We all heard that "women talk more than men" and "men don't listen". Well a US female psychiatrist, Dr Luan Brizendine who is a self confessed feminist, has written a book about the differences in the female and male brains. The findings in the book are based on the author's analysis of more than 1000 scientific studies, in it she claims that " There is no unisex brain. Girls arrive already wired as girls, and boys arrive already wired as boys. Their brains are what drive their impulses, values and their very reality".

According to the book, women talk "almost three times as much as men, uttering a staggering 20,000 words a day on average compared to men's 7000".
"The Female mind" which is the name of the book, also refers to testosterone which "reduces the size of the brain involved in hearing, allowing men to become deaf to the most logical of arguments put forward by women". That is not the case when it comes to sex , the doctor believes the area responsible for sexual thoughts is twice as big in male brains.

While the thought about sex crosses the male brain every 52 seconds, the same cannot be said about women who only think about the subject once a day.
Other scientists do not agree with the findings, saying that our social environment forms the basis of our daily behavior and the amount we talk.
I, myself tend to agree with the author of the book :-).... Somehow seems more believable given our everyday experiences.
