No one would have expected the success that Ahmed Al Sharif would receive from his tour in Australia. Fans, Arab expatriates, press coverage, magazine articles, and even a warm welcome from the Mayor himself were all waiting for him!
As soon as the young Tunisian singer arrived at Sydney international airport, the crowd went wild!
And as for his concerts, well, you can just imagine the attendance. He sang for no less than 3 hours at every time, singing pieces from Tunisian folklore, Dabka, as well as some classics by Warda and Abdel Halim all in addition to his own work from his latest album.
He was so successful that his concerts were covered in 8 local newspapers and magazines. He was even honored by the Mayor of Sydney who congratulated the young Tunisian for his talent and success. He also expressed his sympathy with the Lebanese people and promised a visit to Lebanon and Tunis soon.
Way to go Ahmed. This is the kind of Arab quality we need.

Ahmed El Sherif is the most successful Star Academy contestant. He is so talented and he has the best songs, one of the nicest voices nowadays. I love Ahmed El Sherif so much. My favorite songs of his are Sidi Saleh, Bein El Nass, Twadaana, Sahran Maaki El Leila, let's just say his whole album is wonderful.
