China Lifts Wikipedia Blockage

Wikipedia

All web surfers have probably heard about Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia. This website run by non-profit organization is a helpful site especially for those who want to access important information for research or just to know some information. The fact that information is provided free on site makes it very beneficial. Its service is very unique because the users can either add or edit any of the information cited.

But according to reports Chinese authorities blocked access to the English and Chinese versions of the Wikipedia due to the controversial contents regarding China. Blockage started late last year, but it seems Chinese authorities have had time to think because the mainland China can now once again access the site. Throughout this issue Wikipedia has stood its ground in refusing self-censorship.

The blockage lift is very beneficial because of the wealth of free information that can be obtained form the said site.

not only that but they are undeveloped countries with all the money.a very bad combination.i cant believe everyone had a debate on wether women should stand for elections or not in kuwait...we deserve to be called terrorists.

Take women driving cars and their choice to wear the veil in Saudi Arabia for example. There's still a debate on whether women should drive or not and the fundamentalists think it's wrong according to their narrow minded beliefs.

yeah but were not worse than israel.i mean we SEEM to be.but were not.have you heard about Mordechai vanunu?he was an israeli man who was kidnapped by israeli secret police in Germany because he told the Australian Sunday times that Israeli had nuclear weaponery.he was the first man held at hostage.he was imprisoned for 15 years because he 'betrayed' his country.however he did not betray anyone.he only told the truth which so much israeli men and women and palestinians as well ought to know about.the others who knew about the nuclear hideouts were told they would 'dissapear' if they told the media.well so much for 'democratic' ay.i thought israel believed in the freedom of speech.im telling you they're not better off than us.
