Lebanese singer Elissa is recognized again as the best-selling artist in Lebanon this year at the World Music Awards 2006 which is the only international Music Award ceremony that features the world's best selling artists. Recoding artists have to sell millions of records in order to win a world music award.
Some of the World Music Awards 2006 performers will be:

- Beyonce (USA)
- Chris Brown (USA)
- Elissa (Lebanon)
- Faithless (UK)
- Katie Melua (UK)
- Andrea Bocelli (Italy)
- Bob Sinclair (France)
The show will be held in Earl’s Court London on the 15th of November and will be hosted by singer/ actress Lindsay Lohan. It will be broadcast in every major record-buying country in the word on terrestrial television and in the UK; C4 will broadcast the special on Thursday, November 23rd.

i saw her last year and i think she did excellent in repsresenting the arab world. her voice is very beautiful and im glad she is chosen because she puts the arabs in a very good light around the world
I'm so happy for Elissa, she deserves it. She is such a great singer and the 'Bastanak' album is the best album of 2006, in my opinion. She has such a beautiful voice and her songs are great. She definitely deserves the award. Elissa is the best!!!!

I love Elissa! I am so glad she won that award. Thank god, its not Tamer Housny. She deserved it more. And, yes so does Sami Yusuf. I mean tamer housny is not bad but he just didnt deserve to win also he is ugly as hell.

Yes she deserved it bcoz her voice is great! I like very much the way she present & express the song.. with a full of emotion & feeling. Compared to Nancy?... of course I like Elissa most!
