It's official, the much awaited Al-Jazeera English channel will be launched next week.
The launching of this English channel offers the chance to reach out to a new & huge audience that is used to hearing the name of Al-Jazeera without being able to watch it or understand the language.
The director of Al-Jazeera Network, Wadah Khanfar announced that the new channel will provide the same ground-breaking news & balanced journalism to the English-speaking world.
Al-Jazeera International is due to launch on November 15th, it will need a very strong beginning to assert itself in the world of satellite channels, especially those specialized in news, thus it will debut its broadcasting with an exclusive interview between its star presenter, the BBC veteran Sir David Frost, & Prime Minister Tony Blair on Friday November 17th.
As for the team, it gathers some of the very famous names of news & journalism, like Sir David Frost & former CNN staffer Riz Khan.
As for viewers, Al-Jazeera attracts between 35 million & 40 million viewers, but five million is the first-year target for Al-Jazeera International.
