Although the famous Lebanese singer Elissa's record sales have dropped since last year, she still made enough sales to be number one beating Nancy Ajram.
She achieved the number one post for highest record sales of 350 thousand copies in Egypt for her album "Bastanak" or "I'll Wait for You".
Elissa's sales dropped from 450 thousand last year. It might be due to the fact that her release date was at the same time as the World Cup and the Israeli war on Lebanon.
i think it is very realisitc and logic that Elissa is on the top of the list because she is the best female singer now and no one ever can beat her...and btw elissa's album wasnt released during the world cup or the lebanese war but last winter..
anyways.....Elissa is now number 1 female superstar!!!!!

I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH HISHAM, HER ALBUM WAS RELEASED WAY BEFORE THE WORLD CUP. I HAVE HAD IT FOR AT LEAST A YEAR AND CAN'T GET SICK OF IT JUST LIKE HER LAST ALBUM. VERY VERY NICE SONGS THAT REALLY ARE WORTH LISTENING TO.

It is not a surprise. Bastanak was ( and still is) a major hit. Congratulation Elissa. But the album was released in valentine day last year so there was no war.
Elissa is a good artist, like your song "Bastanak". But I really prefer ya tabtab from Nany Ajram.

I agree with aussie gal I don’t think elissa care about lebonan. She doesn’t concerned about her country and her people, is really sad.

Yes Elissa albums are great on CD's . She has a great sound on the Cd thanks to technology and computer filters, but can she sing live on stage like here cd, i attended a concert for her and i was shokked no way she is the same singer. Yes Elissa could be heared on Cd's but live she destroyes here own songs. WHY!!!!! .
we should be greatful for computers that made us hear to many singers like elissa but on stage we only enjoy here beauty and dresses but here voice NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

BRAVO to Hala Elas!, finally a smart person with a valid point and opinion. I agree with your comment 100%, that is very true. Elissa sounds so wonderfully on CD but LIVE she sounds terrible. I'm sorry to say that because I enjoy her CD's and I am a BIG fan. It is very true though, because of the technology in the recording studio singers like Elissa sound really good but LIVE and live concert, they just can't hold a note. I'm sure Elissa knows this that is why she always has "PLAYBACK" on most of her live performances. I like her and her music BUT she definately can't fool me, & apparently neither Hala Elas!!
