Saudi Singer Waed with her Daughter

Saudi singer Waed has just completed shooting her video clip for her new song with her daughter in Beirut. The new song entitled "Dhummak" or "Hug you"--composed by the poet Turki and tuned by Jan Saleeba-- is one of a new album expected to be released in three weeks.

The concept of the video is the cute challenge between Waed and her daughter as both change costumes from Saudi to Lebanese to Indian and others traditional dresses.

In an interview with Tony Khalifa on the show "Hatha Ana" or "This is Me", Waed expressed her frustration towards many commercial songs which depress her saying: "Where do they come up with these words that can't be understood"

She also described herself as being a singer who used her voice and didn't need to use anything else to attract attention.
Waed also expressed her happiness to meet Saudi poet Khalid Al Faisal whom she had always wanted to meet but she was too shy to ask him for a poem to sing. She also said her wish was to meet Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasralla and Samir Ja'ja.
Would she sing them a song too?
