"Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin's daughter Bindi, now eight years old, is carrying on her father's legacy as an ambassador of Nature. The young Irwin is shooting a 26-part wildlife documentary show, "Bindi, The Jungle Girl," set to hit the airwaves in January 2007.
The accident in September 2006, where the much loved Steve Irwin was killed in an unusual stingray barb attack off the coast of Queensland, Australia, occurred while he was filming a segment for his daughter's new show.
In the first interview since her father's death, Bindi told Australia's ABC network, "I'm trying to get across the message that don't be afraid of animals, they're just put on this earth to help the environment and everything like that."

Scenes filmed before her father's death will be inter cut with her appearances. John Stainton, Steve's manager explained, "We'll never refer to the fact that Steve is no longer with us. The way it works is that Steve plays co-star to Bindi." Bindi will be reacting to her Dad's antics.
Stainton says, "this little girl is very much enjoying what she's doing. She is in control."
as an Australian,i would like to say that the media has really exploited Steve's death and his daughter and wife have become celebrities when they wouldnt have been if Steve was alive.its a shame to expliot a girl at such a young age and expose her to the media.
God bless his family and I hope they carry on his legacy however also taking care of themselves...
I never thought that to be true Blake, it's weird...
i hope they carry on his legacy as well.we will commemorate his death always but the media has turned his family and his death into a joke.
i agree with foofoo, i dont think that the media turned his death into a joke, they just wanted his family to know how much steve was loved. i think whoever said that was exaggerating a little
they just wanted his family to know how much steve was loved
by turning his young daughter into the celebrity spotlight?..i think theyve forgotten about their steve already.no i think blake is correct.im living in Newzealand and all i watch on the news is bindi irwin giving speeches, going to celebrity gatherings in LA with her mom, taking pictures with animals etc.just think about it,before steve died his family werent really known worlwide..now they're like publicity is like WOW.its taking her innocence away from her.its quite enough already.
Yes I trully revere him and I would like to give my condolensces to the great Australian people... ;)
thankyou foofoo and ilovesteve.im glad someone understands what i said because many Australians share my feelings about bindi.
You're welcome blake. No need to thank me. He was a great person...
