The month of Ramadan clearly defines itself as a month of relaxation, family gatherings and spirituality.
Those of you who live in the Arab and Muslim world feel and see the spirit of this month in many ways.
One of the major ‘themes’ in Ramadan is the gathering of the family. I didn’t have dinner or lunch with my parents as we all work different hours and timetables. But I’ve noticed that during this month, I’ve been spending a lot of time with them on a regular basis. I wouldn’t have done so unless we were united for ‘Iftar’ time.
Also, and after the meal is over, it’s time to go out and spend some time with friends. Ramadan nights have a magic touch to them. Argeela, card games all night are a familiar in Arab societies but what makes them different during this month is that this usually happens during the weekend only… but in Ramadan, it goes on all month long. Work or no work, we’re having a night out!
What activities do you do during Ramadan?

Well, most of the day after coming from school or work is getting ready for futoor. Yes I do spend more time with my family now that it's Ramadan. We help each other get everything ready and what not. Activities...hmm...well...there aren't alot of activities to do except sitting together and socializing.......;) Ramadan Kareem!
