Well it is a funny picture, but it made me think about how we always see pictures of starving, barely dressed children from famine striken countries but they never cease to be smiling, running and waving to the cameras. On the other hand you see kids with everything but they are always grumpy and asking for more, just like their parents who are running around in pursuit of happiness so they lose side of the important things by which they can provide their family with their desired wish, some time together enjoying a walk in the park for example. Happiness eludes most people nowadays, because we keep looking for it and we seem to think material things and the latest trends are the way which leads them to their desired destination, we want the best schools, the best houses, the best contacts, the best jobs....People prefer to die of stress as long as they seem the perfect picture of happiness and success in the process.

Its not America that's taking over the Arab countries! Why won't people stop being conspericy theoriest for just one minute.
Arab businessmen bought, paid for and set up Starbucks! Not America!
Do you think that there's some sort of plan to put starbucks in every country? It's just a coffee shop for God's sake! Get over it!

I agree with Zayed. So what's wrong if there's a Starbucks cafe in Jordan or even in its remote areas? It's like purchasing coffee from your local resturaunt but this one is from the U.S.

To get this straight with Starbucks in Jordan (and Oman, Qatar, UAE, Lebanon, Bahrain, KSA). They are all franchises of on big ARAB company, M.H. Alshaya Co.W.L.L. based in Kuwait. No Jews there! But even if, I would assume that they wouldn't care, since they focus on the business and not on politics. The whole arabian peninsula is crazy about coffee shops and Starbucks or Costa are hip. How to be an entreprenuer? Listen to your customers and give them what the want!

You're right, Frank.
