Remember the early days of Arab Sat? A bunch of pathetic TV stations broadcasting form Government-owed public channels from all over the Arab world. What a mess. Slowly and gradually, some “cool” private channels popped up here and there. The best of which must be the MBC group. What would we do without channel 2? What would we watch if it wasn’t for MBC 4? Some of the best TV shows and movies shown 24hours a day which rival even the Orbit or Showtime bunch.

15 years ago, a small T.V station was born in London. These were the humble beginnings of MBC which now has become a beacon for media and an icon for Pan-Arab coverage of news and entertainment. I know what some are thinking, can MBC continue to shine regardless of the fierce competition? And the answer is Yes!

The MBC group is growing and gaining a lot of popularity. All over the Arab world people are watching MBC2 and foreigners living in this part of the world feel right at home when they see Oprah and Dr. Phil. Also, Al Arabia news channel is even stealing the show from Al Jazeera. And the best thing is… It’s Free!
