Abdullah al-Amiri

Abdullah al-Amiri has been replaced as the chief judge in the trial of Saddam Hussein.
This move comes as Amiri was accused of being too soft on the former President. Also, protesting this sudden change of judges, the defense team walked out of court today. Defense lawyer Wadoud Fawzi said: “We don't expect this court established under the occupation authorities to be fair, so we decided to withdraw from this trial,"

Well congratulations everybody! We have proven to the world two things:
1- That we not only do not have the capability to overthrow our own dictators
2- We can’t even trial them ourselves!

Amiri is the third judge to be replaced by the court, what is this baseball or something?

I thought that somebody like Saddam would be easy to trial since he’s allegedly committed countless crimes against the Iraqi people, but apparently it’s becoming a more and more difficult task to do. Judges are being replaced, lawyers are walking out, lawyers are being killed, TV coverage is being censored. Just what’s going on that’s so unclear? Why is this taking so long?
In the mean time, Iraqis are more and more divided in their support and protest of the former President whose absence from power has proven to be catastrophic on the once rich and powerful nation.

Judges should be unbias of course. Personally, I believe the kurdish judge was the best. He maintained order and was vert strict in judgement to the accused. Since this is about
"al anfal", he may be biased towards the kurds so I don't blame them for removing him but I sure wish he could come back. Its true, Al-Amiri was very soft and acted like he wasn't even in the court room. This is justice and you have to choose the right judge, one with a long experience. Hopefully, the next judge will be a strong character and will do a great job just like Judge Raoof. Anyway, we all know how all these trials will end...the death of Saddam. He doesn't even deserve a trial for everything he has done to his people..... ;)

The old way is much better and less expensive ... actually it costs ZERO ... kill the old president somehow and a new one will take his place and so on ... the millions of $$$ that are being wasted on this trial should be invested in making the living of Iraqi people better ...

At least Saddam is the first dictator to be put on trial for his crimes against his people especially the Kurds and the Kuwaities. The first two judges were fair though Raoouf was very stern but he put order in the court and showed Saddam and his men a thing or two about respecting the rules and the fourth judge is going to do a good job unlike Al-Amri who was biased.
