Change the Channel

Ever thought of making your own TV station?

Since 9/11 5 years ago, most people have become aware of the clear media bias towards Arabs and Muslims from such channels as CNN and Fox. Oh yes, Arabs complain here and there but no one actually ever did anything about it. Sure, some stations did pop up like Al Jazeera and Abu Dhabi, Al Arabiya and so on but these were all broadcasting in Arabic.

Why would I need to tell Arabs about Arab problems?

Mo Hassan from Detroit understood the need to inform the American public of Arab and Islamic issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Iraq. Apart from politics, Bridges tries to reach out the non-Muslims to improve the reputation of Islam that has been so hard hit by Western right-wing media. Broadcasting in English, 24 hours a day, the channel features lifestyle, cultural programming, talk shows and inter-religious debates.

“We're trying to create a dialogue between 300 million Americans and 1 billion Muslims worldwide," Hassan said at a news conference at the Muslim Center in Detroit.
Finally, a TV station that is trying to improve the image of Arabs and Muslims in English. It is noted that Al Jazeera have been trying to start an English version for years now. I guess Mo Hassan got there first. Perhaps one day we’ll see a cool action movie, Hollywood style, that would have a Muslim hero, a bit like “Kingdom of Heaven” but would show a more modern moderate Muslim society.

Al Jazeera is the worst channel ever, always biased and causing friction between Arabs. It reminds me of kids fighting.
