International AIDS Conference

International AIDS Conference

From August 13-18, the 16th International AIDS Conference will be held in Toronto Canada. Expected to attend the conference organized by the International AIDS Society are more than 20,000 delegates from all over the world, making this year’s conference the biggest AIDS conference so far. Participants of the said conference are scientists, care givers, AIDS advocates, political leaders, and persons with AIDS and HIV.

Participants of the conference aim to disseminate new ideas and information on HIV and AIDS, which is one of the leading causes of death in several countries. Statistics show that more than 40 million people are now infected by the AIDS-causing HIV and the number continues to escalate. At present, India is noted by United Nations AIDS Agency as the country with the largest number of people with HIV. In twenty years, about 11 million of them might eventually die of AIDS. Attendees of the conference are hopeful that through the conference, they will be able to make plans on how to help topple down this dreadful disease.

I dont really want to be srcastic...but i have to say this...

Why are all these goverments wasting time and money when people are doing what it takes to get aids? If you really want to help..you should get some spacialists in Africa...and give them the meds and stuff they need and lecture them over their...but giving lectures internatioally and stuff like that...not all people are going to do what they really need to do...what a waste of time and money.....but its a good thing to do..but in a better way that nees to get developed over he days..

i DO KNOW HOW PEOPLE GET aids and there are cases when people are unaware of gettin infected. say u are in a public transport, someone hiv+ has a little bleedin wound and touches smth with it, well next person touchin that same place will also get infected if he/she has even a minor scratch on the skin.there could be many variations of such cases, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE GET INFECTED IN SUCH ACCIDENTAL WAYS and ive seen such people and ive seen them die as well, so sometimes u dont have to DO THINGS to get aids. and i think people SHOULD SPEND money on such conferences. there are alot of people unaware of how easily it can be transmitted and FSK u are one of them.

I think it is a good idea to hold conferences to get people informated about aids, but the organizors should better focalize on the aids problem in Africa. Here in the western world people are able to pay their antibiotics but in africa people are to poor to pay them. They also should hold their conferences in Africa go there and help them immidiately, they should sent specialist who can help the children and women, because they are the most infected. We should also take in consideration that the most people in Sub Afraica can not read so lecture would be their a problem, I think they will need a lot of interpreters.

Yes, there are some people who get AIDs purposely but others do suddenly and without warning so they deserve to be treated. Even those who made a mistake (which I, for one, consider sickening)should be treated but it would do no use if that person goes back doing what he or she used to before....FYI: AIDS is Auto Immune Deffiecency System which is when the immune system that serves to protect the body from illnesses breaks down and so the body is suscpetible to all kinds of illnesses.... ;)
