Najwa Karam Sings For Lebanon

najwa karam in Tunis

Lebanese singer Najwa Karam has announced that she is not going to cancel her concerts in Tunisia. She did so in a press conference in Tunis with Mosaic fm & the Lebanese ambassador in Tunisia.
Karam expressed her sorrow & pain because of the terrible events in Lebanon, & said that because she cannot carry a gun & fight for her country, she will try to send a message across & do a small part by singing.
Najwa Karam will participate in 4 events in Tunis; she will sing in Sfax festival, Monastir festival, Gafsa festival & Gabes festival. She announced that a quarter all of the money that comes in from the concerts will be donated to the Lebanese red cross.

She also said that she will not only be singing patriotic & national songs, but will also sing her own songs , because in her opinion, when the enemy sees that the Lebanese people are strong & happy, that will spite them!
Najwa Karam also urged all Lebanese singers to participate, even if with a song, to show their love for Lebanon.

I can't understand why some persone, for any reason, just compare and say bad things about other artists out of nowhere... What i mean here is that there's people who like Hayfa a lot and and others no...

Personally i LOVE Najwa and considere her as the best oriental singer... but at the same time it would be nice to respect the preference of the others and if i have something nice to say i would sayt it, otherwise i will keep my opinion for myself...

All my best Najwa (love u)

I love Najwa shes one of my favorite singers but I dont think its the right time for doing a concert right now. I think she should just make a nice song for lebanon. Why not donate all the money thats stupid not donate half but quart.

um...i think what she's doing is great. and what she means by singing her songs to show israel is not that she's being mean to the people on the streets or anything. thats stupid to even think that. by doing that...she's telling israel that you can bomb our country and ruin it all you want..but us lebanese are strong and it's not gonna bring down our pride.

i love najwa...and this is the best that any singer can do and she's donating ALL, ALL the money to lebanon. you guys should've heard her crying it was soo sad. This is the best any singer can do even though she's away from her country she is still doing somethin as little as it is unlike other singers who are fleeing. NAJWA UR THE QUEEN.

I admire Najwa for her music. And after reading this I admire her even more for her strong character. I especially love the part that says "because she cannot carry a gun & fight for her country, she will try to send a message across & do a small part by singing." She is every one bit committed and dedicated. Amazing. Her love is so strong for her country, that if she did have a gun she would fight in the war. Amazing.

One thing that must be recognised is the high level of pride that you find in every Lebanese. And Najwa is a great example of that. Despite what is going on in Lebanon, she still remains strong and encourages others to be the same.

    One last Message:

    Dear Lebanon,

This is not the first time that this happens to you. They have tried so many times to hurt you, ruin you and destroy you. But, they never win; and they never will. And you will always stand strong.

With patiance and strength you will survive and live long.

I can only imagine and share your pain as I watch Aljazeera, but even that I don't think is anything like the real thing.

My Heart goes out to every single Lebanese.

I have been very pleased to make a link on my home page (www dot rivers2c dot com) to renowned contemporary Lebanese artist Najwa Karam.

    It reads:
    "Introducing renowned contemporary
    Lebanese artist Najwa Karam.

    Like legendaries Fayrouz and Umm
    Kulthum before her, Najwa chooses
    songs with empowering lyrics.

With works like MaBismahlak (I won’t let
you) and Alla Mahlak Ya Hawa
(Go slowly for my love), her songs send
a message to the world, but to women
    in particular to stay strong."

    Cordially,

    Richard of eTidings
