Peace Reigns in Ms. Universe Pageant

Ms. Lebanon & Ms. Israel

Tonight is the big night for the 86 lovely candidates aiming for the prestigious 2006 Miss Universe title. All girls are determined to bring out their best in the competition. Of course, everyone is hoping to take home the crown not only for their own pride and their family’s but more importantly for the pride of their country. Despite the competition, however, all girls in the pageant enjoy each moment they spend with each other and nurture strong ties of friendship despite cultural, religious and political differences. Candidates from Lebanon and Israel surprise us most with their unusual friendship despite the raging war between their home countries.

Miss Lebanon Gabrielle Bou Rached and Miss Israel Anastacia Entin set “wonderful example for the world,” says Miss Canada commending the two candidates who have opted to set politics aside. The same is true with candidates from Greece and Turkey whose home countries have been at odds for so long now.

Miss USA Tara Conner says in an interview that it’s just right to set politics aside saying that as beauty queens it’s their job to work for nothing but their official causes. Besides, with all those activities that all the contestants do and enjoy together, fighting doesn’t have any room in the competition.

The 2006 Miss Universe pageant will be aired live on NBC and Telemundo tonight at 8:00 pm.

thats so cool. im not even arab or anything but i think thats great since it gives an example for the leaders of these countries.
every1 is praying for the lebanese people and it on the news 24/7. i think its shameful how the USA isnt doing anything to help.
everyone should take the example of Anastacia nad Gabrielle so we can have peace.
