Four more days to go and we will finally know who will be crowned as the 2006 Miss Universe. The most prestigious beauty pageant will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles California on the 23rd of July. A total of 86 beautiful and intelligent women from all over the world will be competing for the Miss Universe crown, which will be passed on by the 23-year-old reigning Miss Universe Natalie Glebova of Canada.
This year’s pageant hosts will be Access Hollywood’s co-anchor Nancy O’Dell and Puerto Rican actor-singer Carlos Ponce. Skybox commentaries will be given by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy fashion guru Carson Kressley and 2004 Miss USA winner Shandi Finnessey.
Emerging favorites among the 86 lovely ladies are candidates from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Australia, India and Venezuela. It’s somehow expected that these girls would come out as early favorites since most of the past Miss Universe winners came from their countries. Among the countries with the most number of winners, Puerto Rico and Venezuela (each with 4 winners) come next in rank to USA, which had 7 winners in the past.
