Hey people: I think the writer of thsi article is absolutely right! everyone in the west should look up to the arabs and the arabs are absolute idiots (to put it in a simple phrase!) we are all arabs we all speak the same language and we own almost 1/3 of the world! parts of africa (tunisia,sudan,egypt,morrocoo,algeria etc) parts of the mediterranean (lebanon,syria,jordan,palestine etc) and almost all the gulf (saudi,emirates, qatar,iraq etc) yet we are still racist to each other and fight each other even tho we speak the same language have very simialr cultures! if we (arab nations) stuck together as one unit (like europe does with their laws of the EU altho they speak completely different laugneages and have different cultures! eg spain and england or greece and england) then i think we can pass the message of islam and protect our raw materials such as oil very easily! but as MASRYA said arabs are lazy and stupid i say it with my hands open wide! its ignorance,laziness and stupidity that is drowning the arab nation down!

i don't think that we are lazy if you go to any arab country they know more than their lanuage, they are smart and fit they are able to do anything they want but there are limits. It also has to do with the goverments. i am very proud of being lebanese and even more proud of being an arab. We need respect that what most westerns do not give the arabic countires. They don't acknolowdge that we live happy and some not all want to change what we are. they want us to be exaclty like them.

Arabs are NEITHER lazy NOR stupid. However there are many issues in the Arab world that work against them, will take all day to outline. They are to blame for some but some are forced upon them.

Well,nothing is making us move backwards except the sporadic wars that occur in the Middle East and they don't seem to be ending. Vogue, we have not forgotten our culture and of course we are really proud of it but because of our problems amongst each other, we have no found time to develop to the level of european countries and what not. In the old days, we were yes a glorious civilization and we made amazing contributions to math, science, medicine, optics, literature, poetry, and so much more. Arabs are too proud to admit that they need to improve. The worst is that the most important issue is to prove that your country is the best only among the arab nations. One could sit and write long articles claiming that his country is the mother of nations or the bride of whatever sea forgetting that the whole nation is becoming the tail of the developed countries in many ways. No one sees the whole picture it's always about a beauty contest or a football match and we all turn very proud for achieving nothing in the real world. As you said we create troubles and live them letting the others move forward while we stand in the corner watching and fighting each other to prove who is better in our small geographical area. How aren't we proud after all of this?!

i really disagree with you grace arabs are arabs no matter where you go they welcome any arab indivadual with open arms, yes we need some imporvements like every country in the world needs, not country is perfect look at the americans and the europeans they fight among themselves. Yes these countries are great they have good economic system but if you look at the history of these countires they made their ecomony by stealing.

Well, in the past few years things are changing, I am not sure for the better or for the worst.

But they are changing, the west african nations morocco, tunis and algeria consider them selves berber not arab

The lebanese, since forever never liked to be called arab, I dont know how this stand now.

Syria and Egypt are a special case, because over the year especially in egypt, lots of immigration happened, so egypt is a mix between native egyptians (themsevle a mixed race, greeks, romans, turks and true native egyptian) .... to repeat clearly, egyptians now are a mix between the mixed native egyptian, arabs, turks, circassians, armenians, iraqis (some ppl dont consider iraqis as true arabs) , kurds, plus all the different races men el sham (jordan, palestine, lebanon and syria)

Syria, too is a big mix

Iraq seem to suffer from an identity crises as well.

So in a way, its an oversimplification to say, we are all arabs

What we need to learn is, we are all different, but we are also all united by the arabic language which we all learned and loved.

Regardless of our origins (which we should not forget or ignore) we should try to better communicate, and use our language unity to our advantage

hi everyone ... i really missed this topic i wasn't in town for the last week so i didn't have a chance to check waleg ....

first of all we're not having a war against of the west ... we're all humans and then we might disagree and hate some of them really much ... but we love and have the support of some of them really mcuh like france , germany and so ....

and we trying to make peace and not war and hate i know some of the western country did start the hate and the injustice torward us and trying to steal our money our oil and our land ... for a reason that they say is to liberate us from ...so and so and cause we're violent or barberique or stupid .... or whatecer they might say as a stupid excuse to get there and start stealling us .
but then i completely disagree with whoever said arab are getting divided please don't say that again ... no matter waht will happend from to 1000 years the arabs citizen of the 22 country are allways united together and have their golden culture and language that they believe on the most and then and we never let it go or get seperated but then after all this the people are allways totally united but some goverment aren't like the case of kuwait back then and some gulf countires but you know it even in the east the people of the gulf from most of my friend i knoww here in england do not agree with what their goverment are doing ... anyway people will be allways united together and will never divide but the govermen't does not allways agree togehter .... that's the problems and the new generation are even better more open minded educated and smart but they will never let go their land or honor or injustice be part of their life .

That's my point tania arabs are proud of single and sometimes betty stuff which are not even their real achievment . You never find an arab proud of the whole nation improvment. On the contrary sometimes arabs are too gealous to see that one achievemnt in morocco sounds in the development in saudia arabia and vice versa.
