no the davinci code book is not banned in egypt and it is sold legally everywhere :S. but about the movies alot of christians and muslims authorities was against the movie showing in movie theaters but anyway it is already sold on dvd .. .also legally . i have got both the book and the dvd:P

During the Bookfare it wasn't banned yet, the ban was officially put few days ago after a discussion in the Egyptian Parliament and the Minister Farouk Hosney came out after this and declared an offical ban over the book.
Ma3rad el ketab was long time ago and even during it book stores were suspicious and some of them like madboly didn't sell it publically

I found ALL Dan Brown's book including the Da vinci in Alfa Market Alexandria, AFTER the ban. ALso they have the VCD (no DVD though) in Green Plaza. You can always rely on our beloved people to give us all the good stuff our stupid goverment banned.
