Every four years comes the special time for football lovers, a time when all the world can watch fair & exciting football matches unlike any other matches.
But since a few years, even this simple & free pleasure has become exclusive for a few channels & expensive! -at least in the Arab world-
The Arab Radio & Television network (art) have taken the exclusivity of airing the world cup matches, thus there is only a group of people who can watch & cheer for their favorite teams!
I ask, Why? Why should there be exclusivity in airing football?
That is so true!! World Cup channels air free in Europe. It's bad enough we don't have strong teams on a global basis, now they're making us pay to watch soccer. They should consider that some ppl don't have that kind of money (though simple it may be to some) to pay for channels. Why don't all channels air them instead of just ART? Not everyone can be at the heart of it so why prevent the wholw world (or the arab world at least).... ;)
yeh,but thats not only in the arabworld its everywhere all over the world u have to pay money now, and its an order from the fifa.but still i hate art its right not everyone can watch at home its becouse they made it expensive and they say they want to take it till 2012.i wish aljazeerasport takes it its much better.

No, not all over the world. Here in Australia you can watch it on a free to air channel.
mustafa it isnt all over the world so that you must pay,here in germany you mustnt pay and in the other countries like france, england, netherlands and a lot of too...it is only in the arab countries a problem.
Hey...I'm watching it on art and I'm not paying a penny ! I think they solved it here in Lebanon.Anyway...i was really scared when i first heard about the paying thing before the world cup...but now everything is fine.

u can also watch the matches for free on the german channels on astra 1 satallite and without paying a penny 2 that greedy owner of art he could have made it cheaper but he made an expensive price which mpost of egyptians cannot afford so they go 2 cafes and watch the matches for 30 and 40 pounds minimum charge for a match walahy haram
FIFA,ART and coffee shops owners are thiefs. Since when has sports become execlusive for certain classes.
However, I think that people proved to be more intelligent than Sheikh Saleh Kamel and all who act in such a disgracing way. In most of the Arab countries people have figured out two ways to overcome the problem.
They either steal Sheikh Saleh (the thing I consider halal) by connecting a wire that costs them about $6.00 and they watch his damn channel in their homes. Or they turn their sats. to whatever European channel and they also watch the matches.
Over ad above, there have been several newspapers and magazines that published some codes inorder o enable people to watch.
I can not beleive that we have reached this standard!

I'm glad I don't own or watch ART but I feel sorry for the people who can't afford to watch the games and even if they pay for the channels it's not worth giving your money to a media mogul like Saleh Kamel who has been monopolizing the World Cup games for years when the real purpose of his mulitiple channels is to entertain everybody. That's a real shame, they don't do that in Europe and America.
I see World Cup games on ZDF, ARD, RTl..those 3 german channels aired on Astra SAt...thanks to them.
