queen rania al abdallah

Tonight on MBC 4 queen Rania of Jordan appears on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Queen Rania, which is the youngest queen in the world, is her usual self on the show, a spontaneous, active, fresh & casually chic with a very warm smile. She represents a sophisticated Jordanian woman, who walks steadily towards a bright future, thanks to her intelligence & self confidence.
During the show, Queen Rania talks about being a queen & a mother, she also tackles many important issues like women's rights, the Palestinian-Israeli crises, the Jordanian society & many other topics.

Queen Rania is gorgeous, pretty and witty woman. She represents the arab woman cleverly, specially that opera once had an episode about women around the world and the only example she showed for an arab woman was the saudi tv presenter who was hit by her husband which is a racist and arrogant view. There are many successful women in the arab world.

Sorry but I don't like her at all, she fears to tell her opinion like almost every arabic involved on politics

Hello,

Actually I don't know what to say and how to start, but.. I watched the program today.. IT was Great!! Its a bit hard to talk about a Queen like the Queen of Jordan.. Queen Rania.. I think she was great today in Oprah's show.. as usual offcourse!!

I am a Jordanian and I know that we Jordanians are lucky to have a queen like queen Rania.. I think we Arabs must be proud to see someone that could represent Jordan and the Arabs in that way!!!

I think the world would be fine if we have other people like Queen Rania... SHe said something that I think is great..

**If you educate a women.. your educating the future**

Thank you,

Rania is Palestinian just to clarify. She doesn't represent Palestine in the slightest (she seems more Jordanian) and sometimes I dare say she talks absolute s***! She seems too busy at the gym and being best dressed or most elegant. There are far more capable speakers who simply don't get the opportunity to express, that aside she seems to travel and attend more conferences then her husband. She's nothing but a pretty face for a misleading picture. Royalty don't represent anything but themselves.

well she does more charity work for her own country rather then for other arabic countries, a true inspiration and equilty singers or actress form the arab world are nancy ajram, haifa wehbe, hanan turk and many more, because they do charity work across the arab world not just for their own country. I know that haifa voice is not good but at least she's helping others i think two or three week ago she went to egypt and had a concert and her beneifts the money that she went to the students education.

Haifa & Nancy doing Charity!? This is the most absurd opinion i have ever heard.

Leila, you have the right to say what ever you want, but please try to be more reasonable:) "No Hard Feelings" !

Charity is something you do without expecting appreciation or thanks in return. It is something between Allah & his slave. Charity was never done by singing in concerts half naked infront of the whole world!

Charity must be done in the secret so that your left hand won't know what your write one gave.

Anyways, as for her Majesty Queen Rania, i personally enjoyed yesterday's interviwee. it was obvious that she's a witty person regardless of what she really believes or does! And i think she did represent Arabs as educated & peaceful people.

For those who said that she fears to tell her opinion, don't forget that she's a Queen not a politician! she has to talk in a diplomatic way & watch her words!

The one thing i didn't like was that Queen Rania has travelled all the way to meet OPRAH! I have nothing against the woman, but it makes me sad to believe the fact that America is the LEADER of the Arab World :(

i disagree with you fulla, you say that charity is not something that you show and appernece i agree with you at that part, however queen ranai is doing the same thing as haifa and nancy, i read the laha magzine and in every issure there she is in her country having her picture taken with people. My question is why do you have to prove ourselves to the americans that women are treated equal and have the same right ofcouse not all arabic women do but we can make it and we can break the line if we wanted too, we just need time. and i don't think that she is repreasesnting the middle east and the arab women. She's only representing herself and country. and your right about one other thing why should she be the one to travel to oprea, why oprea cann't go to her.

What we see in the weekly magazine "Laha" isn't Charity either. It is just a way of showing off! like some fashion show! >> This is to make things more clear for Leila << :)

real is she represent ?
9 June, 9:06AM

please we arab women dont imitate our self with higer class like her at any means she is not represent the women living in low level. even though she is from jordan most of the like forsure the jordanian didnt expect she trying to stand along their interest and for equal job opportinity only for her class royal family .ofcuour she was prenaind and to get acceptance she tried to address the right and the interst of the poor women under the screen she has secured and kept for her class . we have alot of intelectial and professional women that have been represted us . why oprah call them interviewing our social ,econmical , and others problems rather than inviting higer class that never been as the gust On behalf of us ?

In Laha magazine, Rania has the most pictures it's as if she's a celebrity or a fashion model rather than a member of the monarchy. How much does she spend on her clothes? If she's concered about charity then why isn't she doing anything about honor killings in Jordan? That's my opnion about her.

so you want her to go dressed in rags and that would represent us Arabs?

u kno, its a shame we cant open up a bit and see the world..not only ourselves..this is how we got to where we r..

at the very least Queen Rania does something in this world...we have one representative who is admired on an international level..not that she doesnt deserve it..she does..i attended a conference where she spoke and it was touching
instead of us Arab women sitting bak doing nothin, y cant we b proud of those who do?

well we all r entitled to our own opinions!

i sort of agree with some of your comment angle eyes but i don't think that she repreasent the arab women, arab women are doing fine without her support, they are starting to stand up for themsleves it may take time but at least their doing it themselves nobody is fighting for them. She only repreasent her country jorden. NO where else.

i liked the show very much and i fell in love with queen rania. she was gracefull, sweet and repectable. but what i didnt like was how the jordanian women, that have appeared in the reportage, were trying to appeal to americans in every single pathetic way.
like there was this woman that said that their famly's favourite breakfast is cereal and especially the american type of cereal. and the other woman that said that she orders dominos pizza. i mean this is pathetic if we want to appeal to them we show them that we have our own culture and our own food we dont have to be so weird like that. as egyptians call it "Talzi2"

Ofcourse always disagreeing that is why we Arabs will never achieve peace,we are arguing about The Queen wears, for God's sake she helps people better than others who dont and she is an intellegent woman.
Regardless of what you people say because there will always be negative regards even towards Arabs ourseleves ,she represents women and she showed those stupid American pigs what we are like, they were suprised we have dominos pizza for God's sake, they think we live in the desert and use camels as transportation why not show them what life in Jordan is like?
Honor killings in Jordan that is something beyond the Queen or Royalty, people for years have been doing honory killings its how people think which is very sad really that mentality which is so barberick, it is in depth of society, society as a whole needs to abandon some of their old sadistic ways and solve issues in a more traditional way.Ofcourse this is very difficult to do and it wont be achieved soon

she never ever represent arabs women even the jordians only the royal family .

im not sure how many of u noticed this, but oprah
was extremely RUDE to Queen Rania, she was CONSTANTLY interupting the woman. besides that, i liked what Queen Rania said about Islam and educating women. however i must admit that she struck me as rather bland.
also, maybe we wouldnt have to talk about dominos and american cereal if we would for once produce products locally!!!!!!!!!
i also agree that neither Queen Rania nor the women who talked about themselves on the show represent Arab women majority. but then again, how could she, i mean shes a Queen for God's sake, no matter how down to earth she is, there r huge differences between our lives and hers. also those other women were obviusly very high class.

Natalie i agree with Oprah being rude to Queen Rania and i expected the interview to last a whole episode, whoever that african woman was,she wasnt a Queen to travelled miles for an interview she could wait.
As Arabs most of the products we use are American products,so why are we complaining? if we want to change that we should be like Syria bravo to Syria they produce their own stuff and use em.

angel eyes
13 June, 4:00PM

just cuz some ppl here dont use american products doesnt mean that we all shouldnt...well tell me the alternative ARABIC products we can use?!?!? if Arabs made their own products then no doubt we would use them? we still lack behind on many levels...personally i use american, european products, but when there is an Arabic alternative thats good enuf then y not?!
First lets make products, then complain that no1s buying them.

secondly, yea she doesnt represent the arab world, but to them she is an Arab icon..no single person can represent a whole world. the point is, she is an arab out there doin sumthin, then again i think everyy person percieves accomplishments differently, to me it might be to educate myself and open my own company, to others its getting married, every1 has the right to their own ambitions.

i agree with u natalie. u make sense in wat u say!

I think most women would be witty, posing and smiling like a 'cheshire cat' etc if were all Queens and if not gorgeous then could also tackle that now with plastic surgery. The point is what is she doing about being a Queen except huge smiles, showing off - I meant publicity and big talk but no action. Even Kings and Queens return to God empty handed but what they leave behing is their actions. Look at the Pharoahs hehee!!! No matter how hard they tryed the west took theirs.

Whats this about first Arab women to speak! We can all speak - we have mouths dont we? The first Arab or Muslim women to speak goes far back to the time of the Holy Prophet(sw). You may call this the Arab women trying to act Western or more like acting as fools and tarts seems the more appropriate thing to call it. And yes by the way just by words not actions (you know its all to show the world). Mind you who watches such garbage anyways!
