Many of you have already heard about the Palm Island in Dubai but its only today that I knew that there are 3 Palm Islands and not only one as i thought before (Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, and Palm Deira). The Palm Deira is the largest Palm Island. It will consist of Premier Villas, Grand Villas and Vista Town Homes, marinas, shopping malls, sports facilities, and clubs. Palm Jebel Ali is the middle-sized island of the three and it would be an entertainment destination for both adults and children...
The Palm Jumeirah is the smallest of the three Palm Islands, it is located on the Jumeirah coastal area of Dubai and it will contain over 25 of the top international hotel brands including Movenpick, Antara, Fairmont, Radisson SAS, Hilton, Metropolitan, Shangri La, One and Only Royal Mirage, Starwood, Marriott, Oberoi, Chedi, Taj and Dusit. Other developments will include Al Basri Building, Al Habool Building, Al Anbara Building, Emerald Palace, The Fairmont Palm Residence, Jewel of the Palm, and the Trump Plaza and Marina Residences.
The Palm Islands are also refered to as the Eighth Wonder of the World.
These are some recent photos of the Palm Jumeirah taken on March 2006

WOW! WOW! WOW! They've really done it this time..there's no telling what Dubai will come up with next! Everything is there, no need for europe or any other place. It's gonna be great!... ;)
question.. arent they also making fake islands shaped like the continents and building villas on those too..?
i want a fake island :((
As far as I know famous celebs like Indian actor Sahrukh Khan purchased a villa there and also his American counterpart Robert De Niro. The people of the UAE have built a lovely paradise in the Middle East. Good luck to them.
i think, this whole thing dont even worse when they use poor people, slavery, mainly indian people, paying them no more than 100$ per month and making them work more then 12 hours a day under very hard weather condition and a lot more... for the only sake of money and money and a lot of it. i think the uae governers need to be ways a lot more human and at least respect human rights before consider themselves a civilezed country.
a country like this is not at all a paradise bandari as u think if there no human rights respected.
i agree with you leile 100% its not right what theyre doing to the workers! they showed a spokesperson for the company that built the palm on a programme here in the uk, and i was horrified to hear that he said 'thank god we are blessed because we have india next to us!' i couldnt believe that!!! i agree that the projects going on there are wonderful, but the bad thing is that its become overtaken by british and american people. there is so sense of arab origin in there anymore which is a shame because they all want to become like english people!!
Well...All I can say is that it's a great acheivement on their part but sooner or later, more later than sooner, nature will take its toll on this megastructure it's only a matter of time.
ps.
I want a private Island too )=
Masha Allah, i would love to live here.
what a sick display of nothing better to do with your money, oh yea, there are starving kids out there!
let there be a hurricane to wipe it off the globe.
