Microsoft to Buy eBay

Microsoft to Buy eBay

An article was published recently on the New York Post claiming that Microsoft is considering buying the giant online auctioneer eBay. Multiple unnamed sources are confirming this news which I don’t think it would be beneficial to eBay since most of the companies that Microsoft acquired during the last years are almost dead.

The reason why Microsoft is taking this move is obviously about its continuous efforts or better says war to take on Google… One of the sources close to the matter said that despite the Yahoo eBay recent deal, this would not stop Microsoft from pursuing the online auctioneer to win the deal and merge eBay with MSN portal.

Microsoft is so keen to close this deal especially after it lost a very potential deal last year with Time Warner that would have combined America Online (AOL) and MSN which means AOL switching from Google's search technology to MSN's technology; however Microsoft lost the deal to Google…

I’m wondering, how many billions would such a deal be worth?
