A few days ago it was rumor, now it's a fact! Young Egyptian actress Hanan Turk now wears the Islamic Hijab. Turk has mentioned many times before during TV & magazine interviews that she is considering the option of wearing the Hijab.
Turk now joins a group of actresses who have taken the same decision like Hala Shiha & Abla Kamel among many others.

However, if you are speaking for the vast majority of people in this site, then u really can't say 'our Lord' in reference to Jesus (pbuh). Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) is a great prophet of Islam. But he is a human being, and he walked the path of life, and he was given birth to, and he ate, and he inhaled oxygen and he exhaled carbon dioxide, and he slept, and furthermore Christians believe that he died...these are not descriptions of a creator. Allah is our one and only 'God' and he is not human nor is he the father of Jesus nor does he have any connection with humanity...he is simply its creator as well as the creator of our entire universe and all that exists within it, as well as any other creatures that are external to this universe. We don't know what God looks like or what form & mass he is or anything about his appearance except that he will be light, and to everyone he will look and sound different depending on how deserved they are of seeing his true nature. Fathers and sons look the same, Jesus is a life created with running blood just like us. God is foreverness and is not given birth to by anyone or anything, he has always existed and always will, he is the creator of all creation and he is one, and he is not created from mud or blood.

I just wanted to clarify that most of us in this forum don't believe that Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) is our God or our Lord or our Creator. He's an example of a great human being for us to follow and he came to expose the important message for us to believe in and follow, and he is created by God as are all the other wonderful prophets. God never dies! By the way, I am a christian Lebanese, orthodox not maronite, also was raised for the most part in Lebanon. I know the so called hatred goes both ways. I do not think the maronites are racist like you say. I do not deny I have encountered some unethical arrogant racist ones, it does not mean they are all like this. The good and bad exists in everyone of us. One more thing, I have heard of a lot of muslims who say that the hijab is not compulsary in the muslim religion. I don't think its wise 2 pick on religions. One of my favourite people in my msn list is a Maronite and I am a Muslim and we talk about religion for ages as well as other things plenty. Ya3ny it’s good to give them a good impression of yourself mahma kan, plus Christianity is a path to Islam, it’s the difference of one prophet (peace be upon him). Anyhow there’s bad and good everywhere, but I think there r more Christians who don't represent Christianity properly simply coz of the bibles many changes and coz of western influence (effects Muslim too) and the unimportance of the church in the west now. But I don't think proper Christians will have a lot of bad things to say about others. Generally I do think Christians have a habit of provoking tension & taking the p*** which is bad, and in tern Muslims have a habit of over reacting, or acting first and thinking later. The problem is that it’s hard to tell who is Christian and who is atheist coz many Christians have dropped their faith. I asked a girl at my school a long time ago what her religion was and she replied ‘I’m atheist, I don’t believe in God’, the next day she showed up wearing a crucifix necklace, and that’s a common thing now so u can’t really make assumptions about who’s what.
Anyway sms u're right about the headscarf, it’s not out of choice and it’s not a symbol. In its most simple form it is protection for female, and it is to ban the perception of women being seen as sex objects or trophies or as pieces of meat or to expose them to so much criticism from females and males alike e.g. look at the size of her bum, look how big her ears are…etc. And Hijab really works when females do it properly and commit to it. It's quite liberating actually, walking around and having the feeling that people r only looking into your eyes as a pose to anywhere else! Mariam or Mary is portrayed as wearing a veil in all the Christian representations, nuns cover their hair...Jewish ladies r required to cover their hair in prayers- some of them use scarves and others use wigs...even Hindus and Sikhs throw something on their hair during prayers. It’s consistent and it makes sense.
