Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo. and Cadbury Schweppes soda companies in the US agreed to stop selling their soft drinks in elementary and middle schools, they will only be selling water, unsweetened juice, tea, low-calorie drinks and low-fat milks. In high schools, they will limit soda sales to diet drinks only.
The main reason for this ban of soda soft drinks is the increasing number of obesity rates among children, 16% of children aged 6 to 19 in the US are obese. Cutting calories consumed through such soft drinks will help in fighting this serious health problem.
What do you think of this? The number of obese children in Middle East and North Africa is increasing and they are frequently noticed than before… Should a similar regulation get applied in our schools?
i LOVE PEPSIIIII AND I WOULD CHOOSE PEPSI OVER COC IN A SECOND and even though i really dont look at it as a big deal because 1.at school i dont really wanan drink pepsi1.i can always drink at after school 3.in the country i live its no banned but our school doesnt but pepsi it buys a product from our own country
i do not mind getting rid of those harmfull product iam a person who does not drink so much soda drinks but cause it is effecting the community might aswell stop selling it , they are harmful after all
its about time , i think its a great thing to do
hah! about time..
first of all, unsweetend drinks are digusting.
tea!!?? what type of tea, ice tea, are u sure its actually, tea, god knows whts inside 'em.
2nd thing, diet drinks in high schools, this stuff is more dangerous than any other soft drink
it reduces ur growth rate and u end up short and then u stop drinking it and so ur short AND fat, and sometimes u need to drink something with high sugar so u can continue ur day in school and stay alert and not fall asleep during a lesson.
ok so maybe it will reduce the percentage of obeseity by what, 1% , this is bull, the fat children are gonna go eat at some fast food restaurant anyways and drink a litre of coke each.
i think that this idea would not work efficiently in the middle east coz parents are also responsible for what their children are eating, its not just the schools.
