Dr Patricia Rashbrook, A 63 year old British psychiatrist will become Britain’s oldest mother in about two months. She underwent fertility treatment in an unnamed country in Europe under the supervision of an Italian doctor.
Dr Rashbrook and her husband, John Farrant who is two years younger than her, said they had deeply thought about the consequences of becoming parents at this age; however Rashbrook was described as a selfish and mad woman for wanting to become a mother again at such old age.
Dr Patricia Rashbrook unusual treatment cost her more than $120.000!

Waleg u made a mistake, her husband is 2 years younger not older thus being 61. I like the bit where it says in a unnamed European country by an Italian doctor...hmmm wonder where that could've been then! I think Italy is one of the only European countries bananas enough (from a medical perspective) to agree to undergo something like this. I think this woman seriously needs to see a psychiatrist herself, they don't seem to know the value of a human life. She's burdened her other two children who are approx 20 with a lot of responsibility coz trust me Masrya those so called parents won't be around for much longer. I'd guess the kid will be orphaned by the time it's 12/13/14 and God only knows. Disgraceful people indeed. Tifoo 3aleikom ya bardeen, mafeesh asl wala fasl. Anyway i just hope they will have the strength coz at the end of the day the kid has no say in this matter and is at no fault whatsoever. I remember a girl in my high school class (500 years ago) being picked up by her mother a few times, and some other kids would point out the fact that her mum looked so old. The girl had no confidence and a very low self esteem and was not taught about hygiene and cleanliness, kids used to run away from her so that they'd not have 2 sit by her or near her...now that I'm older and wiser i feel sorry for her and i feel regret that i didn't advise her somewhat. Anyhow the above silly old bat doesn't seem to realize that menopause was created for a reason. If they felt an emptiness in their lives then it would have been better to acknowledge and address their marriage as an area needing improvement rather then resorting to this.
You are absolutely correct Sam about her husband's age; he is 2 years younger... Thanks :)
dat was menta b nearly dying..not nearly so old..
seriously what is dis woman thinking!!!!!!!! yh das tru sam she doz need psychiatric help...y dey letin he do dis...it should b illegal or sumink..i heard woman should not have babies after 35 :S

Wow!! by the time this kid is my age his mom will be dead...i think
im only 14 and my mom is NOT even 40..shes in her 30's. my grandma just got in her 60's LOOOOL
YA HARAM
BUT ANYWAY I JUST SAW ON TV AND HEARD THAT THIS 90 YEAR OLD LADY JUST HAD A BABY!!!!!!!!!!! i know it is 2 scary, and wow..ya haram for all these kids. they probably will hate thier parents.
also its nasty cuz they would be all wrinkly n eww n having a new child that they wanna breast feed..HARAM!!
these parents r soooo selfish, evil n mean cuz they r not thinking of thier kids future
That woman is selfish, and what's worse is that she's a psychiatrist even if she has that baby she cannot guarantee that she'd live until 70 to take care of it. She doesn't have the energy to play, pick up toys, help with homework, etc. I once read a long time ago in a magazine during the 90's that it was illegal for women in some European countries to have children after the age of 47.
Have we not all suffered for the sins of our parents? God knows what drove these people to have a baby at this age? A need for a new toy?, but they are old enough to realise that a baby is a big responsibility.I do not think we should be talking about them not being able to see that child grow up. I mean even a young mum can not guarantee she will be able to survive until her child is grown up. Also how many young and able bodied women get an abortion, because they do not want to be burdened with a baby?.I do give her points for wanting a life into this world. Here in Australia, they are offering 3 thousand dollars for every noew baby born, they are even saying they will make it higher, because not many people are having babies. Really, If I want to have a baby, I do not think 3 thousand dollars are a big of an incentive, especially that it is going to cost a lot more money to bring up that child, however people still do have babies to get their hands on this measly sum of money, and these parents do need their head examined!. they also do say the older the mother, the more patience and wisdom she possesses.
However I have to agree with sam, that menopause is there for a reason, maybe if she did not have the medical intervention, people would not be so quick to judge. I would not have wanted parents who are so old really. Ehh, good luck to them and the baby. I have to agree also that she may not be able to survive the birth, I mean even older mums who are much younger(you know what I mean!!) than her are told that the birth would be dangerous.
And sam
Really shame on you for not being a true friend and a better human being, just kidding lol.
