Well your precious effeminate johnny-bravo wanabe was always in the top 5, much more than Chayma or Rakia who are MUCH MUCH better singers than he is, and he got top 1 position three times earning himself each time an award, just because he knew how to act well in his evals and finally he made it to the finals though I can think of at least two persons who deserved more than him to be in that position. Rola was waaay too generous with him so be grateful to that. I always wondered why the panel where always amazed by what he does and no one thought of giving him remarks about his feminine gestures and especially that g a y-like sleevless frilly red shirt he flaunted in sports classes. Gosh, he even cries more than women and he has that annoying artificial lip movement when he sings with the microphone with no memorable singing performance.
Egyptians bewilder me: in previous editions of Star Academy they mocked the Lebanese contestants who sang in French and English and now they are stressing on Hani's foreign performances (in which he is average at best) as points that should made him win. Hani does not look anything Egyptian, wear blue contact lenses and dyes his hair blond, pump up his muscles, speaks mostly in English, was raised in Belgium and does not have one bit of good old Egyptian humour or spontaneusness, and still our dear chauvinist Egyptian waged a relentless attack against Lebanon and the LBC's integrity and fairness for a person they do not associate with.
If someone like M. Attiah or Zizi (though I dislike her loads) has lost and provoked that tide of insults and outrage that would have been understandable, but for Hani?? Very strange.
Would an artificial sissy European wana-be who is a singing jack-0f-all trades and a master of none be the modern symbol of Egyptian youth?

Wether they associate with him or not, he is still one of their own. I wonder about the responses you will provoke M.G.A. Though some of what you said is actually complimentary of Egyptians(good old humour,spontaneous). I think for the sake of some sanity, you could have stopped at the point that he was treated quite well during the competition. I do believe SOME NOT ALL in response to your comments will again throw insults towards the Lebanese in general. I think Egyptians feel that they were actually robbed, in the true sense of the word. Though I do not appreciate us being called thieves(Lebanese), their anger can be understandable if some of them did not point the finger of blame to the whole country.

As arabs, it is impossible, it is everywhere you turn in all arab countries, I think one of the most heard words in our countries is RASHAWI WE WASTA, I do understand you mean the LBC, but then again it is no different to any other Arabic TV station. To arabs corruption starts at the top and you can never find the final step.

But them being "robbed" is an overstatement considering the voting was free.
As I already posted on another entry, they are 70 millions but according to Al Ahram 13% of the population own cell phones which means 9 million people. Considering satellite coverage is not as extensive as in Lebanon, and also considering the widespread religiousness in Egyptian society (Hadn't been for Mubarak's grip, the Muslim Brothers would win) that demonize the "immoral westernized Lebanese talent shows that show too much skin, promote european singing and encourage cohabitation of both sexes), added to that Hani's character with is un-egyptian in many respects it is expecte that the enthusiasm for voting was not huge at least not as it was in Lebanon where there was a nationawide mania and mobilization and where the voting averaged 50 times per person. Added to that the overwhelming Tunisian, algerian, Khalijee and Lebanese diaspora voting, the result was expected, plus EVERYBODY here associates with Joseph, a typical Lebanese young man.

Why do u guys associate one person with a whole country? Don't u have a brain to think for yourself? Why is there such a thing as a 'typical Egyptian' or a 'typical Lebanese'? Would someone do me the favour of giving me a list of what applies to whom in the typical sense? I've never heard anyone call an apple a 'typical apple' and yet they are more identical then we are! (The people whom you see on your TV screens are a handful of selected people in comparison to the real picture). As far as i know about 75% of Egyptians are too poor to waste money on voting for this crap, most of them probably haven't a clue about what it is! I'm Egyptian and i have cousins with the fairest skin and lightest eyes as well as cousins with the darkest skin and darkest eyes...and I'm olive, my brother is asmar, my mother is 'khamreya' (pinkish) and my father is fair skinned! I have seen Egyptians with dark skin and light eyes, in fact i have seen ginger Egyptians. Egyptians are a combination of Moguls, Bedouin's, Africans, Arabs, Europeans as well as the original Egyptians & more...how on earth is that typical? You can's talk such fictional waffle and not expect people to be offended even if u do put the odd compliment...to me as an Egyptian your compliments are as fake as your facts! In addition Hani looks like one of my cousins...he has typical features which you are obviously not familiar with...and i neither like nor dislike Hani, i even thought he was a bit stuck up in the manner he spoke to Raqiya (and i didn't even approve of her, nor Marwa...both Egyptians). If you do actually know anything about Egyptians then you should know that the first people Egyptians insult...are Egyptians! The thought that one Egyptians mentality is supposedly meant to reflect everyone else's mentality within that nation is sickening and it just goes to show how small minded Arabs (from Morocco to Iraq including EVERYTHING in between) can be or can become just by what they see on TV. Hey Lebanese...Samo is in my msn mess list. He's a bit of an airhead at times but I'm sure he means well. He's kind of adopted the American uncultured or unworldly approach to life. That and he thinks he knows what every girl likes in a man! Dear Egyptian & Lebanese people here,
1- From day one in the STARACADEMY 3 , I noticed how is the beauty of ZOZO's voice and i said and nominated him as one of the best voices in the ACADEMY, and i have to say that for his right (kelmet 7a2 lazem tet2al).
2- from day one i said to my self and to my family, Lebanon should and has the right to have a Star one day, because the program 's produced in their country, and may be it will be this year that they (lebanese people) have the title.
3- I have to admit that I love ZoZO, I love his personality, and i still think he's one of the best voices in the Academy (beside Rakya - shaimaa - Hanaa).
4 - after watching the prgram, we all noticed the talent of Hani, and i noticed his calm, sensetive, respectable, hardworking personality, i started to like him too.
5- it means i like both of them (ZOZO & Hani), and i admit that.
but few weeks before the final, we noticed that LBC always focus on FADI (with his silly VIVIAN from day one) and ZOZO.
I THINK U KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY.
I LOVE BOTH HANI & ZOZO, BUT when it comes to the final to have the title , of course i have to choose one to vote for, and we all in EGYPT voted for HANY, even thought we love ZOZO.
WE ALL IN EGYPT 'VE RECEIVED THIS DAMN sms " "Thanks for voting for Josef"", and he won.
SO Mabrouk to ZOZO AND MABROUK TO LEBANON, BUT i still think that there was a cheatting matter in the issue.
I still do not beleive what somepeople said that:
ZOZO HAD VOTES from many countries around the world
May be GEORGE BUSH too voted to ZOZO, THAT'S WHY HE WON. IT'S POSSIBLE !!!
and i still didn't like the way he got the title, and the way every thing was planned from the beganing underestimating our minds.

- I will never watch LBC again.

Cool DDDD, I take back my words too, sorry for saying what I said before on the previous post, but the Jew comment kind of made my blood boil. You know and everyone knows, reality TV is like 10% reality and the rest is fake, they have been doing for years you know. Look at Superstar, a Lebanese almost won it(Melhem) but they could not have that not from the first year. What would have happened to the show and its popularity, not taking anything from the winner Diana Karazon, she had an absolutely awesome voice, one of the best to be on superstar( I always believed the four finalists on superstar were the best ever to come on that show),and merited the win which she had fair and square.
Hani is a wonderful person and he made Star Academy 3 worth watching along with Fadi, Khaleefa and Mohamad Fahad. I wish them all the best of luck even though I'm sure the LBC cheated again to help Joseph win who despte all that is charming and friendly with everybody.
Again, good luck to you Hani and we'll wait for your first CD. ;)
