On February 27th a movie called Pleasantville was on MBC 2, I never really watched this movie before, though it is not a new one!
The movie is about a sister and a brother, she only cares about making relations and sex and he cares for nothing but staying away from people's eyes watching the TV and his favorite black & white series Pleasantville. Pleasantville has always been the young man's escape from all the evil of the world. They met a man who gives them a remote control, when they pressed the buttons of this remote control they found themselves trapped as main characters in this black & white series...

They were supposed to follow the routine or the scenario of this series as the brother wished, he always thought of the world of Pleasantville as a utopia (the ideal world). However, the cunning sister started to show those around her some things they never know about it. Providing them with knowledge gave some of Pleasantville's people the choice and the chance to express themselves, to follow something new and to break the routine.

When the routine was broken colors started to shade people and things, books that were always empty started to be filled with words, the ever sunny atmosphere changed and it rained for the first time. At the same time the world that once seemed ideal turned upside down when people get to know, to think and to choose. The majority did not like change, refused the new colors and they started fighting for their old routine. Colored people were sentenced to isolation and were discriminated!
However, those colored people who discovered the real essence of life struggled and at the end they were able to color the whole community of Pleasantville.

To all those who stand still doing nothing in life, to all who hold on to a false goal and try convince others (even if by force) it is a true one, to all who refuse to listen to any sound of reason and tie themselves to what they call a life of fun and to all who leave others to depict their path and they follow it blindly. Living in isolation and escaping the world, is not an ideal life style, it is not safer and is not the one Fate has dictated for you.
If you have a dream go on, tell the whole world about it, go on and chase it, keep chasing it, insist until you make it come true. You will stumble and fall but you will live a COLORED life, a life worth living. Go now and not later, now before you realize it is too late, take the risk, for life will never be safe even inside the shell.
