Lebanese singer Jad Choueri has been in Morocco lately, upon the request from a Moroccan organization - The Red Badge - that educates people about the dangers of AIDS.
During a seminar about AIDS, Jad took out a condom from his jeans' pocket, and said in front of a wide group of journalists that he always promotes safe sex, and that he never leaves home with out a condom in his pocket, because he is aware of the dangers of un-safe sex, and would never put himself at risk during his sexual relationships, he said.

The sheer irony of the contraceptive battle is the fact that the vatican are against any form of protection simply as they believe it promotes sex itself. The nature of the west and the christian world of existing in two separate entities needs to be assessed. There always seems to be a tendency for each to settle in a different extreme. So understanding and compromise desperately needs to be met between those two communities as they have created a lot of confusion .An individual can do as he/ she pleases but society needs to hold its set of morals, standards, manners and encourage them to be practiced rather then succumb to the desires of a people. This dude above is just trying to be controversial to gain attention or to be classified as 'different'. The only phenomenon in the Arab world is the new wave of very desperately crap performers, they r like money making puppets, i take that back puppets are interesting.
Ok kill me now, ridiculous. Does he not know how this will go down and reflect on us?, I mean he should go back to whereever he was born and do this. True he is trying to gain more publicity. The issue is a very important one which should be handled by someone who has more credibility. Try as much we can to deny it these things do happen and young people knowing it is wrong still do it and someone has to keep the safety issue always upfront, with STDs and all.
This is not to say that we should condone it even if it does happens. He should be trying to inform young people about the importance of waiting until after marriage, not bragging about how safe he always is. I do not care if he is a man respect your body, your family, your country and your culture. Jad is a rich fame hungry wannabe.
OOPS, I admit I did not read the beginning of the article. I am glad there are organisations like this in Arab countries especially with drugs and diseases and all. However I still believe he should not condone sex before marriage but stress the importance of being safe especially to young Arab men . I have heard of many cases of these men catching and some of them giving to their poor wives. Imagine how many unreported cases we have of Aids, how scary is that?. We do not want to become like South Africa. So people only do it after marriage.

Guys, a condom does not promote safe sex...are you not aware that they are made out of (latex) rubber, and rubber can break. It's a well known fact that people have been impregnated or have passed on the hiv virus or any other sexual disease through splitting or leaking condoms. Not to mention the emotional and mental side-effects it has. There are probably close to one hundred sexually transmitted diseases those of which include Hiv, Aids, Pubic-lice/ Crabs, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, Non-Specific Urethritis, Genital Warts, Herpes, Balanitis, Molluscum and even gut disease can be caused by it...and this list can go on and on and on. The simple truth is you will have a greater risk without a condom, a great risk with a condom and pretty much no risk if u opt to wait for the right person, right place, right time and right circumstances. Only abstinence, patience and self control can promote safe sex. And when you find the right partner, you make the commitment which means you avoid having a string of conquests which would ultimately put you and others in a great deal of risk condom or no condom. Abortions occur because of peoples neglect, and this murder should be enough to make people come to a realization, yet people are too busy wanting to get jiggy to take the time and think about the millions of risks and the seriousness of physical activity.

Your theory of safety has no foundation...we have one life and we need to protect it because no body else will. What if an infected person approached you without clarifying his medical state? Would it be ok for that person to keep his or her condition private from someone he/ she is active with? And once again, what if the 'condom' splits?
