Algerian national TV has banned Star Academy because the leader of the Movement for a Society of Peace Aboudjerra Soltani believes that Star Academy show is a provocation against society and attacked its moral values, and so its not fit for family viewing.
Algerians are still able to enjoy every minute of the show on satellite through the main channel of LBC TV which can be viewed on Nile Sat and also on Star Academy 24/7 Channel on Arab Sat.

Okay, this is so ridiculous... this show in no way provokes criticism towards society.. I think that these extremists have gone too way to far... who ever does not want to wathc the show is not oblidged to watch it and tht's it.. concentrate oon more important things liek bringing peace to our countries and living in unity... all of this harsh censorship and criticism will not get us anywhere

I'm lost. In what channels do you watch Star Academy thru the Middle East? I mean, in Algeria they watch it in ENTV, and in the other countries? Do they broadcast it in national channels? or you just can watch it paying for satellite TV? Only in Algeria (ENTV) and Lebanon (LBC) they watch it for free?

What is happening in the world ( Islam. vs West) is not a " Clash of Civilization " it is a "Clash of Ignorance "!
Please think about it, it is the Ignorance from each side, of the other side's Civilization that causes that side to attack and "hate" the other side.
Both sides need "Education"... which is the Key to Peace, Objectivity, and Respect.
The spread of the Hatred, Stereotypes, Misjugdments and especially IGNORANCE in each side lead to a provocation from one side and an overReaction from the other side.

What part of Star Academy goes against Islam? There is no nudity, no bad language, no violence, etc. Just because the contestants live under the same roof but sleep in different rooms, doesn't make it a show against Islam. The Algerians should be proud that they are being represented in a good way so the whole world can see them.
ok first of all ... it wasnt star academy.. it was was superstar that they banned.. second of all.. yes its none of their business... girls in algeria wear bikinis to the beach... but they havent done anything abt that... but they feel like they can do something abt watching tv privately in ur home... wierdos
