Young Egyptian actor Amr Waked has played an important role in the controversial new Hollywood movie Syriana. Syriana is a movie taken from the memoirs of Robert Baer; a CIA agent and a specialist in Middle East Affairs.
Waked plays an Egyptian who prepares young men for becoming Suicide bombers. And stars along side George Clooney & Matt Damon.
Waked says that at the beginning he refused to play the part of the terrorist Arab, but when he found out that the picture ain't as bad as it appears, and that the aim is not to show Arabs as barbaric terrorists but the contrary, he agreed.
Waked also said that Hollywood has taken a very brave step in trying to clarify the truth. But the road is still very long and difficult!
I cant wait for that movie 2 come out, Matt Damon and George Clooney are in it 2 :)

Syrianna was filmed in the Emirates making it the first Hollywood movie to be shot in that part of the Middle East. I feel proud, it's an accomplishment that finally American producers and directors haven't hesitated to make movies in certain Arab countries despite the false reports from the biased media. There are plans to build grand studios in Dubai for future moviemakers. As for Amr, he's a good actor and let's hope he'll be the second Omar Sharif who's already a legend.

I watched Syriana a week ago. It is an excellent movie, extremely objective and unbiased. It shows that corruption and dirty politics in the US (government and oil companies) and the Middle East (leaders) are working together to make more money, control the oil in the region and for incompetent kings to keep their regimes. Now, Amr waked played the role of an hard-line islamist recruiting young poor frustrated men to act as suicide bombers. A small yet significant role that he played in an excellent manner.

I loved Syriana. I don't think it gives a bad image of arabs; on the contrary, it portrayrs them as human beings who suffer many injustices. It is easy to condemn terrorism, but then there are many young, unemployed, hungry, and frustrated men who see martyrdom as the only way to escape their situation. I don't want anybody to die and, in the process, kill people in the name of faith. But as long as human exploitation continues, terrorism will continue too.
i watched syriana two times only for seeing amr waked he´s such a wonderful beautiful man and i only acn sleep with a picture of him in front of me
