'This article is actually a poem and its for all the ladies who wear veils. Its a poem from a friend of mine.' HinDawDaw
What do you see when you look at me?
Do you see someone limited, or someone free?
All some people can do is just look and stare, Simply because they cant see my hair…
Others think I’m controlled and uneducated.
They think I’m not limited and not liberated, They are so thankful that they are not me, Because they would like to remain so “free”.
Well free isn’t exactly the word I would’ve used, Describing women who are cheated on and abused.
They think that I do not have opinions or a voice, They think that being hooded isn’t my choice, They think that the hood makes me look caged, That my life is totally outraged,
All they can do is look at me in fear,
And in my eye there is a tear.
Not because I have been stared at or made fun of, But because people are ignoring the one up above.
On the Day of Judgment they will be the fools, Because they were too ashamed to play by their own rules.
Maybe the guys won’t think I’m a cutie,
But atleast I’m filled with more inner beauty.(al7emdlilah)
See I have declined from being a guy’s toy, Because I won’t let myself be controlled by a boy, Real men are able to appreciate my mind, And aren’t busy looking at my behind.
Hooded girls are the ones really helping the Muslim cause, The role that we play definitely deserves applause.
I will be recognized because I’m smart and bright, And because some people are inspired by my sight.
The smart ones are attracted by my tranquility, In the back of their mind they wish they were me, I have the strength to do what I think is right, Even if it means putting up a lifelong fight.
You see I’m not controlled by a miniskirt and tight shirt, I’m given only respect and never treated like dirt.
So you see, I’m the one who is free and liberated, And I’m not the one who is sexually terrorized and violated.
I’m the one, who is free and pure,
And free from STD’S that have no cure,
So when people ask me how you feel about the hood, I just sum it up and say “BABY ITS ALL GOOD”
"A woman is a blessing from god who is to be unveiled by the one and only SOULMATE"
I'd like to thank my friend for this poem, and spreading this message. And thank you Waleg.

That was really nice poem :)
I like it alot
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
An excellent poem that speaks for itself.
Well done! I don't know what else to say.
Well, I am a Moslem...I think it is not enough to know the presence of God, but more important is to know the way to worship Him. And the questions now is, why to choose this religion or that. The subject needs careful study from different sides. Then people can get a clearer idea and a better chance to decide
SERIOUSLY...
The poem is GREAT!!
My feeling about it is couldn't be described..
It is so so GREAT !!
great job!
never knew u were that talented!
its an amazing way of delievering islam!
keep up the good work:)
Well, you have to be intellectual when it comes to these subjects. It depends on what country you are living in whether or not wearing the hijab will liberate u and make u free, coz there are some countries where wearing the hijab will trap u in a prison and all the doors will be shut for you. God doesnt accept this, the whole point of the hijab is to protect u from evil not to bring evil upon yourself. Wearing the hijab in some western countries will lead u to being refused in job applications, refused in university placements, refused in the whole society. God doesnt accept a person to wear hijab and sit lazily with no job and no food for their family under the name 'im wearing hijab and no one is accpeting me'. You can show your iman through your actions, through your education and through the way u deal with people. Its great to wear the hijab but it can only happen under certain circumstances. W allahu a3lam.
Well... i think its a nice poem...BUT i agree with soul queen, sometimes the women who wear hijab are horrible people, rude and just wear it as a fashion...this poem is making women who dont wear hijab look like complete rude women who will go to hell. Well thats already bad enough to write that about other women, thats not from islam. I am a muslim woman, and i dont wear hijab and i am not as this poem describes, i am religious in my own way and my actions are how i represent my religon. Another thing...this poem is about how guys look at u...darling let me tell you one thing...LIFE IS NOT ALL ABOUT MEN! you have to think about building yourself, finding a good job, being more and more educated, being social and polite TO OTHERS no matter what religon or culture or colour. Thats how Allah taught us to be, not wear the hijab and think We can do what we want coz God will like us for wearing it. NO! Its sometimes used as a cover up for bad things that these women do...i am not saying all muhajabeen are bad...there are some so pure and kind...you just feel like your with an angel..but that also emplys to muslim women who DONT wear the hijab. Its their eman thats counts..as they say...its whats inside that counts...NOT the outside! THINK ABOUT THIS EVERYONE!
good said..FAN
Thank you sara...at least same of us have a brain!
its a very well written poem, and who wrote it must be a very smart lady. good work, and i feel proud that there are people like you who can turn the reality into a moving poem that shows the real thing behind the whole thing.
all muhajjabat should stand up for themselves, and don't change, let THEM change.
thank u
true Fan but the poem isnt meant to make ladies without hijab bad its just an encouragment for ladies who do wear hijab and think its a bad thing and feel bad...
anyway thanx to everyone who liked it
hindawdaw thanks for ur comment
''nned 4 aspirin' whp sed let THEM change..who are u implying exactly by saying 'THEM?' if u are talking about the non muhajabeen then u must be so narrow minded and u need a lecture from me...fan was rite i agree with her/him...so id like to know what u meant by THEM?
Hey People,
I loved the poem mashallah, i just wanted to comment on something else i read in these comments.
I live in Australia, and i think that is one of the countries soul queen meant by 'the countries that will trap you in a prison'. I'll be honest, I'm 19 and I've had the hijab on for 8 years now (and i was never forced).. Hamdullahhh it's been the best thing i've ever done. I've went to a public and private school, i've played sport and versed other people, i've had a job, i'm at uni.. ISNT THIS A NORMAL LIFESTYLE (for even non-mutahajibin)?? There are places in the country where you might go and they give you dirties or chuk rude comments (this might even happen in arab countries).. but remember the one who protects you is ALLAH!
We're in a time now where people have and continue to try to ruin the name of Islam.. but wallah Allah is protecting this religion and it will always be protected. U have to come and see all these Australian Muslim reverts wearing the Hijab with pride!! lol mashallah
Guys.. I don't think we have a choice in whether you can put the Hijab or not, it's a FARIDAH!
If you have Iman then you would go by what Allah says! Also, I can't see that the society you live in can possibly be an excuse, Our prophets (as) all sought the hardest times trying to spread the word of Islam (remember Islam was a new religion then), They didn't stop and say "OH, WAIT A MINUTE, IF I KEEP ON SPREADING THE WORD OF ISLAM, AND CONTINUE ACTING LIKE A MUSLIM, I WILL FEEL IMPRISONED" The kuffar showed the Prophets the hardest times.. but how did they get through.. Allah protected them.. the society didn't so them any good! Our job in this world is to spread Islam, we're not here to do what WE think is right and wrong.. IT'S NOT UR WORLD!
Let me just quote something from the poem:
"I have the strength to do what I think is right, Even if it means putting up a lifelong fight." --> You seriously have to have the strength to follow what you KNOW is right.
One more example, and i hope u ppl can see the relevance to wat i mean:
When u buy a new TV or VIDEO or wateva, you get a manual (instruction booklet) with it. The only way you will know how to use this thing is if u read the manual.. ONLY BECAUSE U DIDNT MAKE IT. The person who made this device would write this manual to show people how to use it. (Wallellahil massalul a3la) Allah created this world and has sent the Quran to guide u along in ur life, telling u exactly what to do so u can use this world in the best way, and to get the best outcome (Jannah).
Soul Queen: "God doesnt accept this, the whole point of the hijab is to protect u from evil not to bring evil upon yourself." --> If God didn't except it then he wouldn't have made it a fard! the Hijab protects u.. BUT Allah protects U and the HIJAB.. Evil only hits u if Allah allows it too, but if ur protected by Him, then how can evil possibly come upon u in any way??
Please ppl, I hope i'm not repeating myself, just remember the old times where ppl saw sooo much more trouble and hardness in their lives then what we will ever see.
And try to think of the excuse you will shamely give to Allah when He will ask you why u didnt wear the Hijab
Btw I ddnt mean to attack or be rude to anyone, I just think that if any1 ever has something to say.. then they should
gud luk all
thanks for the comment HinDawDaw and youre welcome
great poem
actually i hate poetry this is the first poem i read till the end
so well done
great job hindawdaw
to soul queen and FAN
why would ANYONE give up his/her religin, culture and traditions just coz the WEST doesn't accept it?
That's a very WEAK concept from someone who just want to satisfy the others, but not ALLAH.
We have the power to let others accept us, in every nation there is the good and the bad, I understand there are some westerns who are racist and they would look ONLY at the outter appearance. But majority of the westerns, are very respectful and understanding to our religion. I have been wearing hijab for about 10 years, I never NEVER thought to take it off, coz someone is not accepting me. Alhamdullah, I have a VERY good job. and MANY other muslim ladies who wear hijab have jobs and living the best life. so Please don't be narrow minded and blame everything on HIJAB and keep it as an excuse as to why you are not wearing it.
To SENIORA AND FIFI2:
Okay now u ahve overstepped the border, u are making out that i am some bad woman u have not a clue about what ur talking about.
I will continue to beleive what i said before and i dont care what u say. i live in England and i have lots of female muhajabeen frends who have got nowhere in this country, in one of their cases she was raped whilst pushing her baby in his pram by a western man, when they caught the western man they asked him why he did that and he admitted that it was because he hated islam and he knew that the most important thing to a female muslim was her honour. he knew she was muslim from her hijab. Im not saying that the hijab is a bad thing if you both read my comment at the beginning then u'd see what i said! i said hijab is great but only in certain countries! i would love to wear the hijab if i was in an arabic country! but not here, Have u ever listenend to any of the sheik's speeches on television? they said that hijab is not a FARD if it will harm u! God doesnt accept this at all, the purpose of the hijab was for protection, and when u are in arabic countries yes wear it coz its important to but wen ur in western countries dont.
Another muhajabi frend of mine who is only 14 years old she was at school and a boy came up to her created a gun with his finergers and put it on her head he then sed u muslim terrorist get out of our country! now look how much psychological harm it caused that little girl?! yes she was wearing the hijab for her own protection but it didnt work because shes in ENGLAND! Allah doesnt accept this too! Now that girl has lost all her confidence...and thats the aim of western racists to make loosers out of the muslims. i strongly believe that your iman is not shown thru wearing a piece of cloth on top of your head, true faith is shown through your actions and education. A person wearing hijab that has no job, no education and is a rude person has much less of a chance of going to heaven than a person who is not muhajabi, has a high level of education, prays and beleives in allah, fasts, has a really good job with a high wage and is using part of her wage to fund muslim charities in order to give other muslims a chance to become educated and stand up for their religion! i dont know why u are all having a stress attack about people who dont wear hijab.
I have seen some muhajabeen acting worse than haifa wehbe, yes they have the cloth on their head but their make up and clothes and walk and laugh and attitude is competely stakfarallah al azeem.
3an jad iman is in your heart and your mind and your actions not in a cloth. i respect islam greatly and im a very strong muslim but i do not accept the comments that seniora in particular posted to me and to 'FAN'. Fifi2 merely gave her opinion in a polite a sophisticated manner, i respect her opinion and say to her well done for managing to get through like that, but it really is very rare that people have the opportunities shes had in life so she shud be grateful. Well done tho, but i hope that allah will continie to protect u and im sure he will...its a difficult thing to do because u do not know what people are like, and all human have free will therefore they will use it in a negative or positive way dpending on their beleives.
FINALLY NON MUHAJABEEN ARE NOT RUDE WOMEN.
ONE MORE THING WEARING THE HIJAB IS TO COVER UR HAIR SO U DONT ATTRACT MALE ATTENTION...THAT IS ONE OF THE MAIN AIMS ISNT IT? WELL WHEN U WEAR THE HIJAB IN WESTERN COUNTIRES U ATTRACT ATTENTION BECUASE NOT MANY PEOPLE WEAR IT, THEREFORE U ARE GOING AGAINST THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE HIJAB AND DOING EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE!
U DONT HAVE TO SHOW UR HAIR AND PUT HIGHLIOGHTS AND MODELS ON IT, U CAN WEAR IT IN A SIMPLE MANNER THAT WONT ATTRACT ATTENTION!
But if u wear the hijab in western countries u attrat attention and if u have a pretty face then the focus will remain on u, now thats dangerous im not saying that if u show ur hair and have a pretty face thats not dangerous coz yes it can still be dangerous but im saying that thres less cahnce that u will get attention in western countries! i have met many westerners especially british people who are extremely poilite and understanding towards religion and islam but what about the kuffar who dont care about u or ur religion? thank u.
wat fifi 2 said was true.....and i also understand u sould queen... i dont wear hijab but im planning to soon...just becuz i dont wear hijab dosnt mean im bad and thats not wat the poem is meaning but its just a boost or an encouragment ya3ni 9a7 i7na hnee fil emaat wayed yelbesoon hijab and its okay laneh an arabic country i understand in western countries ppl dont accept this lakin remember allah will protect u and if u fight for it ta5thoon ajer more and maybe ur sufferin in the world but fil a5ra ur the winners.. ya3ni put hijab and do good things not just showing that u have hijab......and anyway thanx to all ily 7abo il poem =)
to soul queen:
i think that u shouldn't assume what i meant by "them" before u know what i really meant by it. what i meant was that the muhajjabat should make others as nonmuslims or westerns accept the fact that muslim ladies have this rule in thier religion, and don't get me wrong, i don't mean make them accept it, i mean that muhajjabat should try and work hard to change the image that others have about them, so they would be welcomed anywhere and not rejected.
thank u
the need 4 aspriin thank u for clearing that misunderstanding up. i am glad you had a good point to make, but please make sure it is more concise and clear next time to avoid misunderstandings. thanks again for your comments and clarity :) (sorry if i had offended u due to the misinterpretation of your comment)
