UNICEF Smurf Ad

unicef smurf ad

The UNICEF has released an ad on the Belgian TV channels about horrific wars and bombings. The ad is special and pretty impressive because it is a cartoon ad and the victims are the lovable blue creatures, better known as the Smurfs.
Smurfette is left for dead, and a baby Smurf is left orphaned and left to cry while the innocent Smurf town is carpeted down by bombings and explosives.

The 20-second video commercial clip aims to show that war can happen in the most innocent of places, and the victims are of all ages and all walks of life.
The advertisement is aimed at an adult audience and is only shown after 9 p.m. to avoid upsetting young Smurfs fans.
The ad is peacefully introduced by birds, butterflies and happy Smurfs. They are playing and singing their theme song when suddenly out of the sky, bombs rain down onto their forest village, scattering Papa Smurf and the rest, as their houses are set ablaze.
The finishing line of the ad is : ‘don't let war destroy the children's world’.

now that the smurfs are bombed, they need to make another little movie that shows how sad and angry the smrufs are and the amount of hatred they have aquired for whomever that bombed them. The movie needs to show what the smurfs feel like doing, how they want revenge. My point is, if these cute little sanafers are lively enough to feel pain and cry, (as shown in the movie) then surly, like every human being, they must have feelings of revenge. Wouldnt they want to see the same thing happen to those who bombed them? wouldnt they want to strap themselves to bombs and return the favor? if its really that important for the world to know what bombing does to people, isnt it also important for the world to know how "terrorists" are made????
