There is a noticeable change with using less makeup among Arabic female singers in their video clips. Of course, many of you have noticed this, but is there a specific reason? Watching all these video clips, it is interesting to watch these famous singers that have enough confidence to confront their fans and to be watched by millions of people all around the world looking less beautiful than their usual overflowing beauty, and at the same time showing people a new appearance of them. I have been greatly noticing the less makeup being used within each clip.
First, we see Diana Haddad for example in her clip “Law Ma Da5alet Bi Rasi” with hardly any makeup. Then we see Elissa in her clip “Kol Yoom Fee Omri” with a small scene in the clip where she has no eye makeup, keeping in mind that Elissa is very famous for her striking black eyes...
All of us know deep inside that it is black makeup all the time when we see Elissa’s eyes, but sometimes we want to overlook that. Anyway, Elissa seems have enough courage to appear on public TV with no makeup. That’s great! Certainly, we can’t forget to mention Nancy Ajram. As for the queen Nancy, she didn’t want her fans to get really surprised to see her without makeup. So, her smart technique was to introduce a little bit of herself in “Oul Tani Keda” with a mixture of no makeup in some scenes and full makeup coverage in other scenes. Afterwards, she throws it all out at us in “Enta Eih”. Knowing the Nancy is famous for her beauty, she showed a lot of courage to reappear to all her fans with hardly any makeup dominating the entire clip. And the amazing part is that the clip was a success, and everyone acts like Nancy looks the same. Well, she looks very different, compare her to her clip “Lawn 3younak” and you will see a big difference. The less makeup trend is being used rather smartly by our dear singers to the point that when I see other singers like Asala and Sandra (who put a lot of makeup), I can notice how much makeup they have on compared to what we see in Nancy, Elissa, and Diana’s clips.
Okay, we looked at some examples that prove that there is a trend with Arabic female singers using less makeup. Now the question comes to be: What is/are the reason(s)? Do you think that putting less makeup plays a part in making the story in the video clip look as realistic as possible? Or is it that these Arabic female singers have done so much cosmetic surgery on themselves that they feel they can appear in public without makeup? Or, is it that these female singers want to show us that they are confident that they are naturally born beautiful, and that makeup is not the key for their beauty? Or, has cosmetic surgery caused these singers to have doubt about how beautiful they look that they want to prove to themselves they are beautiful even without makeup, and at the same time prove the public wrong, which have been accusing them of fake beauty.
Likewise, today we are in a world that revolves around beauty. If you have all the talents in the world and you are not beautiful, you will definitely fail. The biggest example is Nancy Ajram. Would Nancy have accomplished this success if she had never changed the way she looks to be more beautiful? The answer of course is NO! Nancy was never famous until she changed to be more attractive, the same applies for Suzanne Tamim. Both of these singers had nice voices, but they never got famous until they became attractive. SO, my point is that it’s not only the singers; it’s how society views talent and always seems to essentially associate beauty with singing.

I think the reason is that Arabic female singers have done so much cosmetic surgery on themselves that they feel they can appear in public without makeup...Nowadays, they can draw a permenant eyeliner using laser...and also a lipliner.
these things will give them much more beauty...but it will not be very clear like MAKEUP. Therefore we don't see it, but they look much different without it. So don't think it is really natural beauty..it is still FAKE like the make up.
Forgot to mention...that's ofcourse it addition to the cosmetic surgeries that they have...
don't you notice how all the female singers started to look alike ? its like they have a STANDARD nose, a STANDARD lips....etc.
They all probably go for the same doctor, to do their surgeries...its CRAZY !!!

make up changes the singers aoot fromo wat they originaly look.they look like completly different singers without make up..i think the reason is that soo many people have doubted their beauty because of thier plastic surgeries soo they tend to put less make up to show us wat they really look like withoout make-up..showin us thier natural beauty is great bbut putin the make up on is all fakee!

i have to say i do not agree with any of this. how do you know they do not have any make up on?. cindy crawford wrote an entire book called "basic face," in which she instructs women on how to put makeup that would not show. so the girl would appear natural but in reality she would have tons of makeup on her face. and remember these ladies work with the top makeup artists! secondly, do not forget that lightening creates miracles. if the singer does not have much makeup, the lighting could be fixed to make her look more beautiful. thirdly, these singers have already done several plastic surgeries, which is sort of like having permanent makeup on don't you think?.
and please nancy is not known for her beauty. nacy is cute nothing more. haifa is what you call beautiful.

Secondly: Ok menmen: I totally respect your opinion. But the point I am trying to make is about makeup that does show. If you really want to talk about makeup that singers put that doesn't show, well I hate to tell you but men singers like Wael Kfouri and Assi Hellani, go to the same makeup artists as Nancy and Nawal etc.. (I saw them on the makeup artist's website: www.halaajam.com)because everyone that appears on TV has to have makeup on(whether it shows or not). But again, I was just trying to target the makeup that doesn't show that lately female singers were using in their clips.
i have said this many timess Haifa is not a real beauty she is one big piece of plastic and yea all the lebanese singers have practically had some sort of plastic surgery but i think Elissa and Nancy are beautiful, cute and talented..Haifa cant even sing. I think its good to try and promote a more natural look bc any normal regular girl who watches the arabic music videos starts to get a little self conscience.

As for Elissa, I think is a very good, beautiful and respected artist who deserves every bit of her success.

I do agree that the natural look is getting popular nowadays, however, these singers aren't so natural...
Diana Haddad could be considered as a natural beauty for example, since she has not had any surgeries...On the other hand, Nancy Ajram in "Enta Eih" is not as natural as she seems...Her cheeks are done, her lips are pumped up, her nose is done and her eyebrows are clearly tattooed...that doesn't stop her from being beautiful, however, she's not natural...the only thing that's natural is her make-up.
i was not comparing haifa to nancy agram and elisa in terms of talent. because haifa has none while they have plenty. i was comparing them in terms of looks. the three are plastic, but haifa is the best plastic. and nancy, obviously you're the one with the iq problems or else you would have understood what i was saying.
Listen guys, you are talking about natural and fake look. It's about time that those arabic singers have joined the advanced trend of "natural make-up". J/LO is very much known for that and keep in mind there is a lot of makeup in there it just looks natural not like a make up factory. Secondly, I am very disturbed by how naive Arab audience has become: Nancy is an artist? at least Haifa is true to her self and does not claim to be one. Nancy's face is cute? My God it's like the surgeon cut half of her face! Nancy's music is just "a formula" of certain beats and sounds but please don’t call her "talented" or an "artist". I have seen an interview for her on the Future setting next to Ziad Rahbani and her statements lacked all the logic and the education in the world. It's very sad what the Arabic music seen has been suffering from. How low are we going to sink, thanks to Nancy, Haifa, Elisa, Maria, Rubi etc....We simply donot have many options. We can only compare the bad with the worse, and that is comparing Nancy(bad) to Haifa(worse). Where is the Good???? Rotana and other music production companies are only allowing the distribution of some women who are far from being true artists....it's a very very sad situation.
