I'm sick of seeing all this crap on the net about cruelty to chickens. I work for a chicken factory in Ireland and what I see at work and what I see on the net are two very differemt things. There is never any over crowding in the hatching sheds, numbers are always kept to a minumum whilst still making a profit. The killing process is very quick and on no occasion can a chicken be alive when it's throat is cut (in order for the body to bleed out) as they are put in basin of luke warm water that has an electric current flowing through it. This makes the bird brain dead in a split second. The killing is done as humane as is possible and we are subject to frequent audits by Government Departments. Killing an animal is never going to be pleasent wheter it's ana animal killing an animal or being done humanely in a slaughter house... but at the end of the day we didn't fight our way to the top of the food chain to become vegitarians!!!
