Salah Eddine, A Syrian Actor in Kingdom of Heaven

Salah Eddine in Kingdom of Heaven

I was browsing the net to see what new movies are out and are worth seeing, and I came across a very interesting movie by the director of the great movie “the Gladiator”, it is called “Kingdom of Heaven”.

It is an epic, about a man who finds himself in a strange land facing a war, then becomes king and falls in love with the wrong woman. He then has an obligation to protect Jerusalem from wicked forces while keeping peace.
I was so surprised to find that the movie includes the character of Salah Eddine (Saladin), but that is not what really surprised me; it is the actor who plays the character of Salah Eddine, Syrian Actor Ghassan Massoud!

It is lovely seeing a famous Arab star participate in a movie that is not only a serious epic, but a Hollywood movie!
If you are wondering who Ghassan Massoud is; he is a very well known actor, he acted in many Syrian TV series such as “thikrayat al zaman al kadim” memories of a forthcoming age, and “unshudat al matar” the chant of rain.
I will surely go to see this movie, and maybe buy it to complete my collection of DVD’s!

GREAT FILM!! I saw it, and it is one of the first Hollywood films that shows Arabs and Muslims as good guys, not horrible terrorists and stuff. Not only is Ghassan Massoud in it, so is Khaled El Nabawi, Egyptian who acted in "Tayih fi America" Lost in America and many other films. It is funny because you can tell it was filmed in Morocco because of the scenery and the way the kids are dressed, and they say things like "ya sidi, sidi". I encourage all people to GO SEE THIS FILM!!!

The Arab warriors are in real life Morrocan soldiers and were given permission by King Mohamed VI to participate in Kingdom of Heaven with its great cast, director and plot. They should give Ridley Scott an award for it.
