Changes Must Be Made

Star Academy 2

After watching the second season of Star Academy, I am sure many of you agree that changes must be made to Star Academy 3! I fear that if this same notion of voting is repeated in Star Academy 3; it will suffer a downturn. I believe the voting scheme should be changed as to 50 % of the votes by fans and 50 % by the teachers themselves.

Star Academy 2 was a complete disaster in my point of view, the students who really did deserve to win like Amani and Zizi, did not! And the only explanation to that is because of patriotism. Even though I am from the Middle-East, that does not mean I am obliged to vote for Hisham. Star Academy is a show of talents, not a show to prove which citizens are more patriotic and which of them support their candidate more.

Hisham Vs. Ahmed H
According to teachers and many renowned artists, Ahmed H could give a lot more than Hisham can. Ahmed sings with feelings and has a beautiful warm voice like his father who is a professional singer.

Hisham Vs. Zizi
Absolutely no comparison! Zizi has improved since the very beginning and her voice was amongst the best in the whole Academy.

Hisham Vs. Amani
Again, no comparison! Amani is a dedicated and hard worker and when it comes to the title, she deserved it!

Students like Ahmed, Zizi and Amani were a lot more talented than Hisham.
They showed significant improvement through-out the entire period they stayed in the Academy. But when it comes to Hisham, he has been maintaining the same tone and no improvement whatsoever. Is Star Academy about singing skills, or acting skills or performance?! Or the 3 all together? Changes must be made to Star Academy 3.

    i totally agree with you!
However, i notice that all the people who have a real sense of music are able to dissociate the good voices from others. Tunisia got a talented young star, we'll keep supporting its career. i'm sure that Amaouna will have a bright future. Thanks Lebanon for giving us the chance to discover this perl !

Why u guys think Amani has a better voice than Hesham???!!!
She has been singing for 10 years!!!
She had a bad attitude in the academy
    no one liked her !
Star academy is a REALITY show!!
If ppl can not pick who they like then no one wanna watch it !!!
If it is only about voice, then there is no need for it to be on air 24/7 !!!
    Get over it
Hesham has big voice....with more training(which already amani had !) he will rock !

i agree with you chnges must be done and it is unfair that hisham win the comptetion amani.zizi ahmad.katia.salma.samer.bashar.are better than hisham and iagree that 50%votes from puplic and 50% from thr teachers

The only reson hisham won is because saudia arabia people voted for him becuase they have alot of money but even though when zizi was a nominne all egyptions voted for her so much but there was chetting in the votings hisham was number2 and ziz was number 1 but when they showed the voting it was the oppsite they did that becuase they dont want another egyption to win because all arabs are jeouls of egyptions and I dont blame them becuase egyptians r better than all arabs no offense becuase in both years egyptions deserve to win but what can we say

Whomever believes that the rules should be changed so that the teachers can also vote has no idea what a reality show is about. if amani is so great she should of gone to SUPER STAR where she dosent have to be seen for a long time. a reality show allows the viewers to watch others and judge them. personality is the biggest factor in a reality program and amani has no personality or should i say she has a negative one. and am saying this again if amani really wanted to win in a show she should of applied to super star and not star academy. hisham deserved the title as he has the best personality. he is not a clown as many gelous people say. i dont really wanna explain his personality coz it will probably take me all day and am not bothered. and btw WALEG how come u havent put up pictures of hishams victory are. shouldnt you at least show a bit of attention to hishams fans and add a few pictures of hisham holding the cup. i have to say i am quite dissapointed.

    Hi Khaled,

    Long time :)

    I totally agree with you!
Hesham has a great sense of humor, but again this show is for talented candidates!

All Arabs in the States are so disappointed with the results! Furthermore, like what you said, Ahmed H has a very deep and unique tone and Zizi has an amazing voice too.

I would love to see major changes in SA III

let me just add something star academy will never change its rules and IF it does then the show will have no taste any more, no excitement what so ever and it would just be too predictable.

    to nunu

arabs in the streets are not disappointed !!!

did u meet all of them

Amani has been singing for 10 years ? why she is not famous ? why Tunisia did not support her B4?

If she has a great voice then she does not need the title.!!! she can make a CD and sell millons of copies and be millionair with few months !!!!!

let is see who is gonna buy it ?!?!??!?

    her voice is common
    nothing special about it

  1. Walid.Tn.Ca | April 19, 2005 6:27 PM

so, if some people are telling us that star academy is only a personality demonstration and that Amany must adress herself to Super Star then, could they explain why candidates are invited to sing on the stage?? the concept of SA is entirely different, this is not Loft Story. voice is the only criterion to judge the students...

    7amzah,

    I appreciate your logical comments!
Nop I have not met ALL the Arabs in the State LOL

If you check all the websites that discuss the issue of Star Academy II, you will find out that Arabic people in the Middle east, State & in Europe are VERY disappointed with the results!
    That's your opinion on Aamnai's voice! >

    Have a great day!

If really amani has a great voice and she has been singing for 10 years :

1- why no one heard about her ?!?!?!?!?
2- why does she need the title any way ?!?!?!?

she can sing and be britney spears within months !!!

personally...i really liked hisham and wanted him to win. and i am in the states so no i am not dissapointed in the results. i must say...i think that if the teachers voted, it would also b the same cuz they'll vote for who they like more than others(and not just singing)and they will want the lebanese contestants to win. i think this is a pretty fair show cuz ppl vote for who they like. if some1 doesnt like another, they dont have to vote for them...vote for the other nominee...its as simple as that. all in all..all of them will become stars...i mean even randa who was the first one to leave, got a recording contract. wish them all luck and they r all stars.

    heshoom!!
  1. Nothing | April 19, 2005 7:15 PM

Amani should have won and Hisham should have lost very early on (he is comparable to Fahed, Anas, and Ahmad S). The final should have been between Amani and Zizi, the only unique and great talents in the academy. As long as the Khalijis have so much nationalism and vengeance in their hearts, they will do this for years to come because look at how easy it was for Hisham to win.

i agree with u in a way. but what i think is that the most funniest person wins. like last year Hamed Atieye won becuase he was funny and mohdume. and this year Hisham was the funniest and so he won. but i wanted Ahmad H to win becuase when he sings u can feel his emotions. and he had the best voice out of the guys and zizi i think had the best voice out of the gurls.

7amzah Amani has been singing for 10 years ? why she is not famous ? why Tunisia did not support her B4? What you said it's all true but you know why because singing in tunisia it's a very bad place to be. You have to sleep with people to get to be known and you need some people in high places to help you. Even if you have a good voice it's not enough. And the same people they didn't help Amani in the bigining now they talking in TV and they said she's a real star and she's one of the best tunisian voice. Amani now she will be a star and she will still keep her dignity . I know people in Tunisia in the singing carrear and when you know Amani caractere I understand why she didn't have her chance and with out starac Amani will never have her chance in Tunisia. Why you think Latifa she was not well known in Tounes before going to Egypt.

  1. mina | April 19, 2005 7:57 PM

i dont think we should compare hisham with mohamed attia.
attia-better voice(he was at least in the top 3 once or more)
Hisham-an okay voice (was never among the top ones)
attia-funny and mahdum nut when he has to be serious he is.
hisham-funny and muhdum also but gets on ppl's nerves sometimes.(never serious)
    Attia-a cutee, he's adorable.
hisham-he went through a makeover!he got alot better looking but really i think attia is way better looking.

Attia won last year because he had a bit of everythin. he didnt have the best voice but he had a one at leats and he didnt mess all the time on his songs.
Hisham simply won because he's funny and most importantly had the khaleege backing him up!

    I still don't get it !
Why is WALEG.com against Hesham all the way
Anyway, remember that STAR ACADEMY is for STARS
You can be a star in different ways: you can be an actor, a danceer or a singer and Hesham is perfect in all of the mentioned skills unlike Amani who is good only in singing which is not enough to be a comprehensive star.
    Changing the rules of STARAC???
    For waht !!
I understand how disappointed you are for Amani's loss but you still have to judge things in a reasonable manner.
Tunisian government put all of their weight in this contest which turned it to be a cheap game by hitting under the belt when they opened not only one but four free voting lines.
I wish that all governments will learn something from this season's results that is (Don't insert government noses in the ordinary people affairs)

    THANX

    ahmed,
Tunisia support to its artists was never a strangte choice. We had also recognized the talents of many artists from north africa and the middle east. last week, kairouan's cultural festival was held in the memory of the defunt egyptian actor ahmed zaki. i don't want to make promotion for my government but tunisian president has a personal interest in culture and arts. remember that in one of his visits to cairo, he met mohamed abdelwahab and najib mahfoudh in their houses. don't forget also that tunisians love music. just to tell you, yesterday there was about 3,000 people waiting for amany's arrival in her native region in Sfax.

you know, for world idol and shows like that, ppl weren't allowed to vote for the person from their country... i think that would work... but the 50% for audience, 50% for teachers is better... its quite clear that Amani had the better voice, so I feel that was unfair... did u guys hear the crowd after the results? I didnt even LIKE Amani... but i still feel she should have won... I'm not saying I don't like Hesham... he was soooo funny... but his voice is not THE best in the academy... w/e... when the albums come out, we'll see who really deserved the title...

    This reply is for Khaled.

Thank you so much for sharing your comments. I feel the same way too.

Star Academy votes should be focused on talent NOT country. I do not think Hisham worked as hard or improved as much as the others and in my opinion should not have won. I believe that working hard must be rewarded.

Star Academy 3 (if applicable) should include peoples' votes as well as teacher's remarks otherwise it will lose its meaning.

Again, I like what you wrote........Is Star Academy about singing, acting, performance on stage, or which country you are from?

The goal must be clear..........apparently, Hisham won on acting not voice or performance.

Star academy should take into account all the things that were mentioned above personality, acting, talent, humor, creativity, voice, intelligence and decency. Where we might disagree is how much weight each quality should have on the overall grade and that’s why I suggest making it so that each teacher gives a 1% vote to the student of their choice.

Thank you Khaled for shring your comments, however I don't think that only Khaleej voted for Hisham, it's all watan Arabi...Hisham is multi talented ...He sings, acts, dances...etc...
Being a star is having the complete package....
Amani is a star also...she has a unique voice and she will have a bright future...same for Zizi, and katia.....
Don't think that it's patriotism or anything else because Amani had Tunisia's support as Well as Hisham's khaleej....this a game .....
I think Starac 1 was much better organized than Starac2 full of surprises....and fun..

    Hi
I am a fan of staracademy stars. I think that the results are unfair.Good voices are lost because of the huge population of SAudi Arabia.
Amani and Zizi are the stars. Ameni worked and sacrificed to reach this level without being nominated. She deserves to be the star not Hisham who has been a nominee for 5 times. Ameni's voice is better than Em Colthoome's. She is polite. She has a long breath and studies or even sings hard songs as if she were a star for ages. Please, if Ameni were saudian, she would win. This is unfair. If she won, she would make staracademy the best program ever. But Hisham's voice cannot be heard. He doesn't deserve to be the star ofstaracademy that he won. Sorry, but it's the truth.
