well we all knew that about egypt, but... although egypt is so arabic and has so much to give and already gave a lot, but have you noticed that egyptians dont mix with arabs. notice that in thier movies, if you are not egyptian, you are a sex model. if you are not egyptian you are made fun off
. notice how they make fun of other arabic languages. i have so many egyptian friends, when i talk in lebanese, they have no idea what i say!!!
i agree egypt is great and has a great history, but we shall not forget that it is not only egypt that is so high up.
i was in egypt last summer, although i enjoyed my time, but i found the people there have very limited knowledge of other arabic countries around.you can say like people in the usa has no idea about the life in lebanon. some still think we ride camels. (i have not seen one camel in lebanon).

as to make fun , we (sometimes) even make fun ourselves , we are the kind of people who love to smile and be happy and be sure that there no offense in our jokes that may concern other people
As to me , i like almost all arab countries ;
-Saudia Arabia :is no doubt the most beloved country to me (Religion , Economy)
-Emirates : which i condider the most beautiful arab country - i used to respect Shiekh Zayed alot
-It's very much considered here that having a contract in any Gulf country is a very great and pleasent opportunity ,
100s of thousands of Egyptians had this chance and many of them still work there happily and effeciently
-Lebanon : geographically in the center of Arab world but also emotionally Lebanon is within our hearts (Regardless any difference in demographics or traditions or whatever , there's always that bond connecting us)
-Although i don't know very much about Morroco (which i've to admit) but i like this country
-I also feel sympathy to Algeria
-GENERALLY , if we don't know so much about every Arab country ,this is NOT necessary means that we neglect this country

Other than Neguib mahfouz, all these other people are not egyptians. All of Neguib's works were inspired by our society. Nothing was of foreign influence. The others, in my opinion are foreigners; americans and britons, who happen to be of Egyptian origin and background, so what?
And I've found many more successful Lebanese here in Canada than Egyptians.
I would love to see the arab nation rise up as one. But what we lack most are leaders. We don't need more artists or scientists or doctors working abroad all fat and happy making themselves rich. We need more leaders trying to work for the good cause, leading nations, good journalists, writers, doctors in war-torn countries.

You're wrong. American people strugle quite a bit to learn a foreign language. Believe me bec I live in the USA and I teach both French and Spanish. A recent study have shown that Lebanese citizens in the USA are the first among arabic people to hold important jobs followed by egyptians. DO NOT FORGET however that Lebanon is a tiny country in comparison to Egypt (3.5 vs 70 million). Regarding the shit that Lebanon is in right now. This shit was caused by our arab neighbors. We would have been a lot better if they have not interfered and sometimes even occupied us. Yesterday, according to the Boston Globe, 2 million people demonstrated to regain their freedom. Do not even dare to say they did this bec of American support. All the members of my family (including my handicaped aunt) went to the demonstration. This was the largest demonstration in the middle east. It is like having 35 million egyptian demonstrating for their freedom. I am going to remind everyone that Lebanon is one of the few arabic countries that maintained a democratic political system even in the middle of the war. We have never had the same president for more than 8 years. In comparison to other arabic coutries, that's wonderful. I forgot, but for how long has Mubarak been the president of egypt? I have nothing against the other arabic countries. They should stop however insulting Lebanon and Lebanese people should not insult other arabic countries. By the way, Egyptians are very nice and funny and I like them.
