Tonight the prime was lit by the presence of the Tunisian star Latifa, in addition to Egyptian singer Baha' Sultan.
The nominees were; Ahmad Hussein, Samer Doumet and Ahmad Salah El Din.
Hilda, the charismatic presenter "whom we have gotten used to" was dressed in beautiful violet, in contrast to last week's sad black.
Latifa started the prime off in a bright yellow dress, and sang a song taken from the famous play by Mansour Rahbani "Hukm Alruian" – judgment of the shepherds -, Tunisian student Amani shared the stage with Latifa and sang beautifully with her.
Katia also had a chance to sing with Latifa, they sang the award winning song "Ma Trouhsh Baied" – don’t go far-.
Baha' Sultan sang two songs; one with Zizi which is a popular duet these days "Elli Fi Eini" –what is in my eye-, and his famous song "Um U'af" –stand up-, which was performed in the end of the prime, and moved the whole audience and even Hilda.
This prime was full of surprises; the first was Katia and her major make-over. She had the mole near her nose surgically removed and had a new hair do. –My personal opinion; I think she looked better with a mole-.
The second was for Salma, she got a surprise visit from her brother and sister, whom she hasn’t seen in 3 years.
The third was the return of Iraqi Bashar Qaisi to the stage, a special appearance to sing a song accompanied by his playing the guitar.
The fourth surprise was the most moving one, Samer Doumet, got the surprise of his life; the LBC will pay all his university tuitions, so that he will be able to concentrate on studying without the need to work double jobs. We wish Samer all the best of luck, and congratulations Samer, you deserve this.
There were also a lot of tableau's and portraits during this prime; the first taken from the famous 70's play "Sah El Nom" by the Rahbani brothers, which was performed by all the students, the second was performed by Salma and Hisham, the third was more of a medley of classic songs which were performed by Katia, Amani and Zizi.
The fourth portrait was taken from the play "Hukm Alruian" – judgment of the shepherds -, and was performed by Latifa.
The fifth and last portrait was a dance, a hip hop sketch, in addition to the latest of the student's creations; songs like "un, deux, trios" and "Ana Tale Nominee" that even Starro the parrot got a chance to participate in.
The end of the 9th prime came quickly, and it was the moment of truth. Who was the audience going to save this time? The votes put Ahmad Hussein from Kuwait back into the academy with 72.9% of all votes, and –as usual- the students had to choose…
They gave the majority of their voices to Samer, and Ahmad Salah El Din, goes home after four weeks of going through the agonizing role of being a nominee.
How come katia is No. one ? Haaaaaaaaaaw?

It is not fair to judge Katia like you do. It is very natural to go through some time of confusion and like (not Love) 2 people at the same time. I think Katia discovered she liked Bashar on the show and she did not plan to do that. Again do not judge people. We all have our ups and downs.

She always forgets the lyrics of the songs. She has no voice. And she just sang one song tonight. Thereore, the teachers know that her voice sucks !!!!
She doesn't sing a lot during the primes and she's among the top 4!!!! Isn't it strange????

To be honest with you all, Star Academy 2 is not at the level seen with star academy 1. All the contestant suck and really suck. None of them is a bit talented.

I loved samer's surprise and salma seeing her borther and sister after 3 yrs was lovely! also katias make over was WOW! but i think she should have left the beauty spot coz its a gift from ALLAH...anyways i congratulate her for reaching no1 and wish her and all the other students the best... as for ahmed saleh el din i wish him the best in his life !!

It is funny how you envy non-arabs. I dont think that there is such a thing as respect to women in western societies as much as there is in arab societies.
For example, I've been living is north america for almost all my life. And unfortunatly i did become like them: I slept around with many women (even at the same time), had fun and all...so basically used women as the westerners (those non-muslims you envy)do, as objects. So unless you like that kind of "openess" you have to thank god that you are an arab and you live in a values-based society. In western societies humans are like animals, no worse no better.
Now that i lived the western life (and grew up a bit in age, and certainly out of such a life) I ask God for forgiveness and thank him for being an arab, since those values i grew up with in arab countries are the values that woke me up at night and reminded me that there is more to life than dancing and sleeping around...there is a day when our actions in this life will be what decides our final resting place...
