French Open champion Anastasia Myskina advanced to the semifinals of the Idea Prokom Open with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over fifth-seeded Iveta Benesova on Thursday.

Klara Koukalova and Flavia Pennetta also advanced. Koukalova easily beat Lubomira Kurhajcova 6-2, 6-1, while Pennetta defeated Nuria Llagostera Vives 6-2, 7-6 (4)...

In the men's competition, Jose Acasuso upset third-seeded David Ferrer in a second-round match 6-4, 7-6. Ferrer made the tournament final last year. Jiri Vanek also downed Stefan Koubek 6-4, 6-4.
