It has been long since we saw the students cheering, having fun and singing.
At last the tour began and we finally have the opportunity to see them.
Star academy’s beloved candidates arrived at the Egyptian Airport on the 12th of May. Where there were thousands and thousands of Egyptians waiting to welcome them and have their autographs ...
Back to Star Academy’s Concerts in Egypt
The students directly travelled by bus to Alexandria to hold their first concert in Egypt at the Alex Country Club. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend that concert as I live in Cairo. However, later I was lucky enough to see the eight candidates in the hockey stadium in Cairo accompanied by Yasser Abd El Moniem the Egyptian student, Soumaya el Guwainy the Tunisian and Mira the Lebanese …
The students were supposed to be at the stadium 8 o’clock but they were late, they arrived at 10:30. The concert finally started with cheers, claps and posters hung in the air.
First, Yasser Shaker the famous DJ played different songs by singers from all over the world, followed by the surprise which pleased a lot of people, the Egyptian singer Hisham Abbas introduced the students, he thrilled people more and they were no longer able to wait. So, Yasser Abd El Moniem entered the stage singing the popular song “Balady baheba”. Then, BOOM! Here the students appeared on stage singing the famous “jaya el 7aqeeqa” song, followed by Myriam and Khalawy singing “Ahwak” by the great Egyptian singer Abd El Haleem, “Ana 3ayesh we mesh 3ayesh”, “el 3allem Allah” were all sung by Mohamed Attieh. “Allah 3aleek ya sidi” was sung by Ahmed. “Sabry 2aleel” was sung by Myriam. In addition to Dalida’s medley, “Ne7na lameen benghany”, “la bamba”, “Aishalak”, and “ah ya hawa” in which Bachar kept saying ya masr.
Aside from singing Egyptian songs they also sang a Tunisian song called “jari ya Hamouda” which Ahmed el Sheriff and Baha’a el Kafy sang, and a song from the Khaleej sung by the finalist Bachar and Mohamed Khalawy. Sophia and Cynthia also sang “je suis malade”.
Moreover, Bachar asked the crowds, “did u miss the academy?” “Did u miss the macaroni?” “Did u miss bacharno?” Yalla ya Attieh!! Ofcourse the answer was a big a YES!!
Here they started singing “academyah” song in which a small part was added for Michael fadl, for Egypt, and for the Egyptians who voted for Attieh. The Egyptian crowds were really pleased to find that the Kuwaiti competitor loved their country so much!
Finally, the concert ended now with “jaya el 7aqeeqa” but this time the dancers were holding the flags of the Arab countries.
At last, after 3 hours of dancing and cheering, the people were really bothered to find that the concert is over and that the students were leaving. In the concert there were around 25,000 people. Some left crying, some left really happy after they had seen the candidates in real life. Now the stadium was as quiet as it was before the concert!
The students left such a great impact on all the people not only the Egyptians or the Arab people but even the foreigners who lived in Egypt. It was special to see the candidates in real life and that’s what people felt, they never wanted these three hours to pass. With one sentence that each student said, people who were in the concert couldn’t sleep…
We all miss them now! I myself can’t wait till I see them again, can you?
